My girlfriend decided to get into dying her hair, and suddenly I've found out that she dyed it blonde. To be perfectly honest, I think it looks like shit. First off, her body has already changed a lot since I first met her, but now her hair looks entirely different too. It's just about like I'm dating a completely different woman now, and I know it seems silly, but it doesn't sit too well with me. I guess I'd be fine with it if her hair looked decent, but it really looks bad and doesn't match her at all.

How can I tell her that I don't like it without making her upset or making her hate me? I haven't really given her my true opinion, but I really want to tell her. I don't want to hurt her feelings.

EDIT: I just liked her natural colour the best, and it was one of the things that made me most attracted to her.

just tell her you like her the way she is, unmodified and that she doesn't need to change for you...besides, who is she trying to impress?

Personally, I think that the blonde version of her is cute. I guess it isn't up to me, though. What is it about the color that you don't like? I notice that there's a bright yellow tone in it that comes from boxed hair color kits, and if that's the case it can easily be corrected by using an inexpensive purple shampoo called 'silver lights' that she can purchase from a beauty supply store (Sallys) for about $6.

What does she think of it? Is she happy with the color? If she is, there's really no way of mentioning it to her without hurting her feelings in some form. Such a drastic change shows that she wants to experiment with her tone, so she might be more receptive to the idea of trying a new shade rather than correcting something she's already done.

I think it looks tacky. Plus, I just like the feel of her natural hair so much better. After it's been dyed, it's not the same.

Well she seems to like her new hair quite a lot. But I guess you're right. I might try suggesting a different shade, but I'm probably better off just shutting the fuck up.

Perhaps you should give it a chance,it may grow on you. And wouldnt you prefer your girlfriend did stuff that made her look/feel pretty than if she started eating dougnuts by the dozen and let herself go?

My boyfriend did this thing once, after watching waaaaay too much anime, of trying to dye one strand of his hair 'white'.

So he had lots of black hair and then this weird..yellow..thing.



It was entertaining, but there's no way you can tell someone how bad something looks without hurting them.
