Default Is anyone actually asexual?

I have a theory that the only real asexuals are people who are afraid that they're gay, or people who don't want to try because they think they probably couldn't get laid.

I think the only real asexuals are people who have gone through some awful tragedy (ie, rape), and want nothing to do with sex.

Is there anyone out there who inexplicably just doesn't want any kind of sex?

My ex girlfriend was asexual. I did an ass load of research about it. www.asexuality.org (http://www.asexuality.org)

I think you're theory is bullshit. Sure, there are repressed gays and whatnot but that is really not the issue.

According to Kinsey "Asexuals appear to be better characterized by low sexual desire and sexual excitation than by low levels of sexual behavior or high sexual inhibition."

I Am. What the OP doesn't realize is the power of free will. I choose to be asexual/celibate as my own choice and stand by that choice firmly. I believe I have become enlightened with my oath and have took it after some really deep thinking about life, not a tragic event.

I can honestly say I don't need the pleasure of sex or love to live.

I knew a guy in high school who's asexual. Come to think of it, I've seen him around campus.. so he goes to my school too.

Naw, we were good pals. He's a smart guy that's more interested in calculus and philosophy than women/men.

Good joke though.

asexuality can mean a lot of different things to asexuals, i believe i am asexual, but for me it means that i would rather have sex with myself then with someone, why? only bcuz i usually am not satisfied when with a woman(no i'm not gay)

for past two to three years i haven't orgasmed while having sex, i went for almost a year last year without sex, suddenly one night i decided i wanted to fuck, so i called this girl who had been after me for a while and i knew would want to, sure enough i did have sex with her, now this is a crazy girl who has one night stands all the time and is quite experienced in bed and so far gave me the best sex i've ever had, yet i still didn't cum, and she tried hard to make me, i went home and jacked it and haven't had sex since(six months)

so for me i still have sexual attractions which is totally the opposite of what asexuality.org defines as asexuality, i just don't feel that intercourse is needed to be sexually pleased

who can make better love to one than oneself?
