Which confuses me, because if he was raped by a guy... why does he suddenly have a thing for the male gender instead of the female gender...

He's in 12 now, and has a boyfriend and they're very happy together.

But I'm still confused.

The fact that he was raped by a guy and the fact that he's gay have nothing to do with each other.

Considering the number of lesbians in the world, I doubt all of them, or even the majority, have been raped. And personally I believe homosexuality is (at least) partly a genetic thing, but that's for another thread.

I don't know if the two are interrelated, but I would say it's probably very possible.

I think it might have something to do with him knowing he was gay before he was raped, so he may have already sort of dealt with some of that shit before it happened. I mean, if you're gay, you're already viewed as "effeminate" or "weak" or whatever by society, on average.

I'm sure straight guys who have been raped also feel weak and effeminate and all that shit, so they wouldn't be very good at processing or analyzing those feelings for what they really are, and then moving on and getting over it... because they'd really prefer not to have to deal with that sort of shit. This guy(different guy) says there is a gene in every person that is homosexual. Depending on situations in your life, that gene can be triggered and that can lead to homosexuality or whatever.

Did him being raped by a guy trigger that gene into him being gay?

With the lesbians being gay thing, I'll just use this example.

I believe I was born bisexual, but choose to be gay because of the way I feel towards men. Sexually speaking I find them attractive, but I doubt I could have sex with them or a relationship.

I suppose that it's possible that being raped by a guy could have "triggered" something as you put it, or maybe just made him have a realization.... although I would almost think it would go the other way... but who really knows exactly how the human mind/genes work anyway?

I dont think anything can turn you gay unless you let it.. and I mean anything. The idea is just stupid. Only reason I can see somebody believing that is to make them self feel better in some way. You make your own choices on how you want to live your life and if you don't your just ignorant or weak bottom line, and you better believe it.
