Default Beautiful Agony=Human Orgasm?

I think that this thread is appropriate for S&A...if not, let me know.

I happened upon this site recently (beautifulagony.com) , and thought that the creators may have something. As you watch people experience orgasm, you realize that there's something beautiful about it. Perhaps that's part of the beauty of having of making love with someone. We, in a sense, control their orgasms, and they inturn control or mandate ours. I don't mean that we are soley in control of what goes on....I think we like to see people experiencing this "beautiful agony".

One must admit, there are times when orgasm is almost, but not quite, painful.

Ah, or perhaps I'm just rambling. Your thoughts??

I fail to see how agony has anything to do with this. Sounds like the guys at that website were just trying to sound intellectual and poetic, but instead are pretentious fuckwits.

Makes sense to me, sorta for the same reason you can achieve a better orgasm when there is pain involved, why some people are into choking etc.

Im pretty sure anybody who has ever orgasmed while being scratched/bitten/during rough sex knows that there is something beautiful about it. But i think im rambling too and i dont know if that made any sense. I need food. Beer. And then hopefully sex tonight.

Ok

Perhaps "painful" wasn't exactly the right word to use to attempt to convey my message. I understand a perception(?) of our bodies responses to stimuli to be known as sensation. And sensation is usually categorized into pain and pleasure (while I do understand that some sensations are not quite so easily placed into either pleasure or pain, I find our definition limitation useful for my/our purposes of discussion). Now orgasm, and the feelings leading up to it, are usually ( at least by the general populace) regarded as pleasure. But, there are some times when pleasure may be so great that it may somewhat borderline pain. A select few may even prefer to experience this pleasure-pain borderline regularly, while some will actually prefer to mix pain with pleasure. The borderline of pleasure-pain is what I was talking about when I so mistakenly implied the concept/idea of a "painful orgasm".

Hopefully I cleared this up...

Okey dokey,

I think I can see the pain-pleasure moreso than the pleasure-pain. But only in the sense that once pain is gone, pleasure is highly appreciated.

Although, this has little to do with sex...at my age.

edit:

Hmmm, wait a minute...maybe it does.

* chuckles *

An interesting point of view...I didn't think about the pain-pleasure-appreciation bit. Nice

Often times, I'll fap to get rid of the sex drive( because sometimes it interferes with work and school). But I wouldn't say that I don't enjoy an orgams every so often.

Hopefully I cleared this up...Is that in any way like when you have a bad bruise and you keep poking it even though it hurts because there's something about it that feels good?

That is a silly question but it is serious.

Yes! Pain is essentially a sensation that we perceive. We then categorize it into the two titans of pain and pleasure. But like you said, sometimes pain can feel good....but it's not simply pleasureable only, or just painful.

Oh, I hear you on this one man. An orgasm is like the strangest form of pain in existence; a pain so brutal that the one experiencing it can do nothing but convulse & moan...

Many times during acid / shroom / k trips where I started playing around (very weird on hallucinogens!) I've recognized this concept of "Beautiful Agony" -- it's quite strange that pleasure & pain, seemingly entities on opposite ends of the spectrum, tend to fuse together to form what we call an orgasm.

I've never seen so many people go so deep into a name which, in the end, is not quite so deep.

A snapshot of orgasm/pre-orgasm facial expression could easily be mistaken for a pained expression, when taken out of context.

That's what the agony means. Blooden, why is this confusing them so much?
