Tattoos
I was wondering what everyone's opinions on tattoos were. personally I have two as of now, one of my lower right abdomen extending almost to my pubic area, and a cross on my left bicep. Most girls I've slept with generally say they like tattoos on guys, but I'd like to hear your opinions. Personally I love small tattoos on girls, especially if they have a banner above their ass.
tattoos: yes, no?

Re: Tattoos
Some tattoos are hot for novelty reasons.
Little ones that are meaningful are cute.
I like the lower back tat on sluts. I'd never want a gf with that tat. I saw a stripper and she had splodges of cum tattood on to her lower back. I'm glad she realizes why guys like lower back tats: It's just a place to unload.

Re: Tattoos
For myself I like tattoos have two, one my my right forearm and one on my right bicept. Getting a few more. As far as on a girl don't really like them except the small cute ones like how girls get little heart/butterfly/hatever right on their hip below their pants line, or what ever nothing big. I don't really care for the tattoo above the back not that hot at all even on sluts. As far as if a girl had tattoos like mine naw wouldn't go for it, not saying I would not date a girl just don't find it attractive.

Re: Tattoos
Personally I like piercings on guys more than tattoos on guys. Guys usually come out with tough random designs that aren't often that meaningful, it's just to say like "oh i'm so badass". On girls, small tattoos are cute; I don't especially like those on the lower back.
However, I love tattoos and have one, rather big, on my left shoulderblade, the greek theatre masks of comedy and tragedy. It's meaningful because I love theatre, I belong to my college theatre group and it's also a way to remind myself that I have to cope with both good and bad things in life, as I'm often too optimistic.
Anyway tattoos rock and it's a very personal thing for one to have, so it's usually a beautiful demonstration of individuality that marks one's body forever.

Re: Tattoos
meh, I'm getting one on my left shoulder in a month or so. But that's for me, to signify the fact that I'm backpacking for a year. It's not for anyone else.
As for girls having them... as long as it suits their personality. It just doesn't look good if a girl who's been "daddy's little angel" her whole life gets one because she wants to show she's hardcore.

No, that's what it should be. Usually it's just dumbasses thinking "omg a tattoo would be so cool". It's rare that I'll like a tattoo on either a guy or a girl; if it's not too ostentatious, not too obnoxious, well thought-out and done for a reason, there's a chance I'll like it.
And people seriously like a tramp stamp on a girl? I think it looks horrible. Tacky, cheap, common.
EDIT: There is one good thing about shitty, un-thought-out tattoos on girls. It shows which ones are idiots who don't realise they'll have that playboy bunny on their hip for the rest of their life, and consequently which ones to avoid.

Re: Tattoos
I'm planning on getting on one my left arm, from wrist to elbow, as soon as I get enough money. It's going to be a phoenix. Boyfriends not to happy about that one. He thinks art should be hanging on the wall, not on a persons body.

Re: Tattoos
Of course I like Tramp Stamps on a girl. Its like marking graded beef. But in this case, Chickens. You got your Free Range and your Perdue and I like to tell the difference in my chicken heads. I like my Tramps to have stamps. Its that simple. But girlfriends I prefer to be stamp free =)

Re: Tattoos
I have 5.
One is in the middle of my upper back and is the GONZO Fist (My memorial to HST)
One is a barcode on the left side of my chest. (Wanted that one since I was 13, and its numbers have a special meaning to me)
One on my right calf. (It is my family coat of arms)
And then I have MISCHIEF on my right shoulder, and MAYHEM on my left shoulder. From Fight Club, obviously, because it is still my favorite book to this day.

Eh, I'm looking into getting one with the Knights Templar Cross in the background, in the foreground, a sword with lodged into a half broken skull with the words "Death Before" on banner at the top and "Dishonor" in banner at the bottom.
Symbology? Knights Templar Cross is signifying my trust in the Lord, however I feel I am a soldier for my Lord first and foremost. (Goes with a military cadence, "earned my living killing terrorists for my God").
The sword through the skull represents what I wish to happen to myself, should I ever dishonor or betray myself.
I'm very into honor . Some of these "macho" tattooes have deeper meaning.
Its between that or a Phoenix, the story of my life. Always dying, always rising again, never giving up.

Ha ha Templars are awesome. I have nothing against that, if it has a personal meaning. But some guys just cover their bodies with tattoos that don't mean much at all. Anyway you don't have to ink it on your body to be an honorable man
I live in a portuguese town called Tomar, where we have the Templar Castle and the Christ's Order Convent. Actually this was the center of Templar Knights' activities during the 12th century. It's just amazing.
And yeah lotsa people around here use the Templar's Cross as a tattoo motif!

Re: Tattoos
I have 12 tattoos all over the place.... most of them are pretty big too.... but they're nothing cheesy like tribal patterns or anything they all have meanings to me. Prospective partners dont seem to mind really.... I wouldn't care if they did though.
As for my preference I like guys and girls with lots of meaningful tattoos but any tattoos big or small that are cliche like dolphins or hearts or anything are a total turn off.

Re: Tattoos
I love the ones on my man. They aren't all completely meaningful..but mostly.
He has a lot though...and they do make him look tough and super sexy.
An important note though...he works out every day and has a very nice body to compliment the tattoos.
He has both sleeves to his wrists, plus a smallish tribal between the shoulders, a HUGE texas below that, a six shooter below that, and a phrase below that. So his back is pretty covered. He has things on each side of his chest and 2 more guns on his hips (like they're tucked into his pants). Oh..and a noosed rope around his neck/collarbone (not anything you can see outside a t shirt)
He sounds crazy but I swear he's not. They are all good tattoos too...none are badly done.
Oh..he has one in his mouth too but it's from his crazier days.

Re: Tattoos
"Cute" tattoos can fuck off. I'm also iffy about tattoos in a cartoon style (dunno why, they just don't seem quite appropriate - just a matter of personal taste).
That said, there are some awesome and beautiful tattoos out there. Those designed by the bearer are ultimate.
I'd get one myself if I could ever decide on the specific thing that I wanted. Or where to put it.

Re: Tattoos
Why be an idividual by doing what everyone else is ?
It is for looks i know they have meaning but if you have to write your morality down your arm then you arent smart enough to warrant the right to mark your own body.
I regret mine , it does have meaning , it does have soul but i regret it none the less

Re: Tattoos
I have it on my arm because all of boot camp past phase two i prayed the rifleman's prayer. And when i was qualing on the m162 i was nervous i fucked up this rapid fire the day before. Then i prayed it i became calm and focused and shot expert(Thus the cross rifles) to me it symbolizes focus and strength
Rifleman's Prayer
Dear God, my Father, through Thy Son
Hear the prayer of a warrior son.
Give my eyes a vision keen
To see the thing that must be seen.
A steady hand I ask of Thee
The feel of wind on land or sea.
Let me not ever careless be
Of life or limb or liberty.
For Justice sake a quiet heart
And grace and strength to do my part.
To God and Country, Home and Corps
Let me be faithful evermore.
Amen

Re: Tattoos
A lower back or above the ass is difenitely a tramp stamp. That is saying "fuck me", "and from behind, here is the target for you to skeet". Hey, all my fuck buddies have tattoos, but my real girl has NONE.

It's a place to put a tattoo which can be covered by a work shirt, and is fairly discreet.
I like tattoos, though will never get one myself, as far as I can see. The last man I slept with was like.. 30% covered in tattoos, and it actually looked fucking awesome.. full sleeves etc. I enjoyed it because they were nie to look at, and unique.. also I had never been with anyone with more than like.. two tattoos before.

My boyfriend has a tattoo on his wrist. It's not unique, but it looks damn sexy so I don't care.

Re: Tattoos
Tattoos can either look stunning, or really, really bad on girls in my opinion. There's a few in the middle, but those are rare in my experience.
For example, I knew a girl with all sorts of odd piercings and a few tattoos, the one I remember the most being a super detailed raven on her right shoulder blade. Probably one of the top three most attractive girls I'd ever met, and the tattoo itself was stunning as hell.
A lot of the girls in high school got stupid shit, like stars or dice on their ankles, and tramp stamps on the lower back. Not my thing, it usually takes away from a girl's looks.
I'm planning on getting my symbol tattooed on my left wrist very small, just to remind myself what I am. After I reach the build I want (cut and around 195 or so), I'm going to get a pair of wings joined together with my symbol in a circle.
The one thing I can't stand at all though are guys (and girls, I suppose) who are too thin or out-of-shape for their tattoos to look good. If you're 110 pounds and 5'8" getting full sleeves done isn't going to make you look any tougher.
