Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
If a guy/girl liked you and another guy/girl (basically one person liking two people of the opposite sex), and was deciding between the two of you, would you ever stoop low enough to compete against the other person?
Or would you ever let two guys/girls compete for you?

That really depends on how she'd want us to... compete... (http://superherouniverse.com/wallpaper/artists/tyler/images3/mortal-kombat.jpg)

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
why bother? if she wanted me as much as i wanted her then competing wouldnt be an issue. so i dont bother and move on to the next one.
sure ive let girls compete over me. if nothing else its a nice ego boost, and since theyre dumb enough to compete ill end up fucking both of them and then finding a girl i actually like.

Yep. Allready have.
Sometimes, It's not particularly for the person competing for, it's more like the dignity of not losing to some other bitch. Also teaching her that she will not allways get what she wants.

Duuuuuuuude, please. I've done some stupid shit, but you can't think that I'd compete. It's demeaning and degrading and puts some one in a position of absolute power over you.
I don't compete, period. Not my thing. If dueling were still acceptable and common, that'd be my thing.

Like YoYo, it could be only to teach the other fucker what its all about.
Surely acting all hard to get and aloof would make her want you more anyway.

That's a really indirect and obscure way of competing.
Because in that sense, everytime I go shopping, I'm actually competing with other shoppers. Because what we want might get sold out.
Or we compete for parking spaces. Etc.
I'm talking about direct competition. Where you know your opponent.

I know what your saying and to be direct, yes I would . I think anybody with a pulse would compete for a guy or girl that they wanted. I mean I've done it, I'm guessing everyone has done it at one time or another

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
Not sure what you mean by compete. I might not back off completely...but I would definately begin to back off emotionally.
But think about it. If the person you might want to "compete" for is that wishy washy about you, then why get wrapped up in all that? Would he/she even be worth winning?
Also, a person can get wrapped up in the competition thing and then, after all that work, they find that it was not the person they were competing for but it was really the person they were competing with that became the draw. Then...what have you won, really?
(I suppose though...if someone was good enough at it, one could be maniplulated into competing. For a while at least.)
But...anyway...for the second part of your question regarding if I would ever let people compete for me.
I am tired of drama. I hate fighting. So, I'd rather keep the bullshit to a minimum.

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
Well it's in my opion that anything good or better is worth competing for, It could be a job a mate or a parking space. If you flat out refuse to compete then you settle! You settle for a good job but not a great job, You settle for a good girlfriend but not a great girlfriend. So instead of waiting and refusing to move for that car who thinks he was inline for that parking space upfront you will move on and park at the back of the lot.. Now what was the question again

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
I fell in love with a friend last year, and he had a thing for another girl too. We weren't in direct competition, because I hardly ever saw her, but she was always on my mind. I ended up sleeping with him (because I wanted to, not to 'compete') and then the next time I saw my friend, the other girl was his girlfriend.
He didn't warn me or anything, it was like a punch in the gut.
But I'm over it now.

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
There were 2 guys "competing" for me in high school. They were best friends actually, until I came along. I never really did anything though, just told them both I wasn't interested, never would be interested and don't bother trying to get me interested but I guess that meant nothing. They're no longer friends now. I still talk to both of them though on occasion. Fuckin weird, man. I think that really showed me how stupid boys are.
I'd never compete for a guy. It just seems so desperate and attention-whorey. "HEY! LOOK AT ME! DATE ME! I'M MORE SPECIAL!" Uhh, no, you're an idiot.

Wrong. That's only if you see your self as inferior.
Girls can want guys too, you know?
If multiple guys like the girl I want/like, I don't care. As long as I'm her choice...with out me having to try for it.
Hmmm...I think I just hate trying.
I'm sick of this bullshit view that women are prizes, something to be cherished. They're not.
From this day foreward I flat out refuse to try for a girl. If it happens it happens.

We're not really defining what competing is here.
I suppose that could range anywhere from whipping your cock out and jousting with it to wiping your arse in the morning so you don't smell like donkey shit.
So any degree of grooming or hygene is competing.
You've got to do it, even when a partner has really low standards.
So yeah, girls can like guys too, but generally the ones that don't dress like hobos with last night's lasagna in their facial hair.
Why shouldn't women be cherished or prized? It's a great feeling when you walk into a room of people staring at your partner and yourself.
It's all good to say that you won't do anything to get a girl. But since you could to less to get a girl, you're still competing.

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
I consider competing like... trying to outdo another guy that you know that the girl might consider over yourself.
Out doing him in many senses. Basically, fighting for her attention. Before bf/gf, you can see multiple people at once to get a basic idea of who you want to be with. I'm talking about that stage.
Where you're casual with a girl, and she's not only kissing you. Shit like that.

Arquin, would you ever let two girls compete for you?
I did not see where you answered this part of the question.
Have you ever loved (or been attracted to) two girls at the same time? If so, how did you choose between them? When would you feel you might have to? Only when one pushed for it, or would you completely avoid that "scene"?

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
quote:Originally posted by oc6:

As immature as I am, indecisiveness is mostly a female personality trait. So no, I'd make a clear choice. Some one is always better.
quote:Originally posted by oc6:
Have you ever loved (or been attracted to) two girls at the same time?
Like, real attraction? Emotions and shit? No. Physical attraction? Fuck yeah, some nights I'm physically attracted to 5+ girls. But I'm a loyal guy, if I care for a girl, my eyes don't even wander. I don't believe in the "look but don't touch" rule most people have. I am truly oblivious to other females when I care for one.
Probably why it takes me a long time to get over girls.
quote:Originally posted by oc6:
If so, how did you choose between them?
I've 'liked' two girls. That meaning that I didn't care, but could see my self persuing either of them. I'd chose by remaining friends with both, and seeing who my feelings developed more for. They never knew about each other.
quote:Originally posted by oc6:
When would you feel you might have to?
When the girl's know about each other, and my actions with one girl effects the other girl's emotions. That's when it's become unfair. Like if I go to the movies with one girl, and that makes the other girl sad, it's toying with emotions. That's when I'd have to choose.
quote:Originally posted by oc6:
Only when one pushed for it, or would you completely avoid that "scene"?
People always say things like "it's not your business". The way I see things is "Anything that effects me, my emotions or my thoughts, is my business. If you want it to not be my business, don't let it cause an effect in my life, not even a ripple".
So if she pushed for it after being hurt, I'd understand completely. Then I'd choose. Her willingness for me to decide would make me want her more, I like some jealousy in a girl, it shows they care. But I'd also be tempted to choose the other girl, purely because she gave me an ultimatum. I hate ultimatums.

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
Based on the original question, I will answer. I haven't read the thread. I can't be bothered.
I would compete for a girl in the sense that I wouldn't back down. If she chose somebody over me, well, fair play to that bloke.
If I'm not the one she truly wants, then any relationship would be null, void sex romps. Which I'm sure sounds good to a lot of you.

Negative. In fact, if you compete too much, you won't get any. It makes you look desperate, which is the #1 turn off for women.

*ding*
No woman is worth me lowering myself to some immature/stupid competition over. If she expects me to chase after her as if she's god's gift to men, too bad, that kind of attitude doesn't fly with me. Sure I'd lose a few girls with this attitude, but I'd bet it's the ones I wouldn't mind skipping over.

Re: Would you ever compete for a girl/guy?
I refuse to compete. Fuck that. If a girl doesn't like me, I brush her off. I act kind and modest about it, though. To tell you the truth, I play hard to get with women.
Most women have nothing they can offer me, which makes them feel worthless. That's alright: I think most of the human race is apathetic and worthless. I don't want to fight someone who is worthless and lower than me.
However, there are some sociopathic women out there. I make sure they get put in their place real quick-like.
Other than that, I do let women compete for me. Yeah, women compete for me. I am a great person with power and abilities. I've studied psychology to the point I understand applied psychology. I know how to twist them into fighting for me.
It's an interesting site, and I love watching it.
