The biting cold (long)
I'm not exactly sure where to put this thread, but I think this is the forum I read the most, and for some strange reason seems to apply.
Well, I had a very restful Saturday afternoon, Gears of War, my giant comforter, and the recliner kept me warm. It was near the stroke of midnight when I got a call from my friend, asking if he wanted to smoke some of the the finest resin (we had some shake too, it was a desperate affair). We went out to "the camper" which is across the street from his and my house. Living out in the country has its attractions I suppose, if you have close friends around.
As we sat by LED light and were chatting about life, he was getting calls from these girls that live near our houses, they are about a mile or so away. The cell reception wasn't too good, being out in the rural zones. Apparently they wanted to smoke with us, it wasn't ever really clear why they came.
So as we were about to part ways, both back to our houses, we hear these girls yelling quite a bit. The temperature at 12:00 on a cold February is pretty fucking intense, especially with a hard 22 mile wind blowing directly in your face. I think the temperature was 10 degrees, so with wind chill it felt like -5 degrees.
Being the savvy wintertime fortune-hunter I am, I was wearing my heavy duty winter shit. My olive drab insulated trench coat, made in the ukraine before it was "the ukraine," my cap, gloves, scarf, and boots. Of course under my coat i had a bunch of layers, and under my pants as well.
These girls, probably all about 15, had on very light jackets, jeans, and i noticed one even had a pair of these slip on type shoes. It was all very lightweight stuff, I could even see her socks. To compound matters, the whole lot of them were drunk. There were three in all, one of them, the one who was having the other two over, was in my eyes the most responsible. I've known her for a long time because of our close proximity.
They were all acting very strange, I'm still wondering if it was the cold, or the rum in their systems, perhaps both. In any case, they were falling all over the place (the other two girls) and were doing generally weird shit. The one girl kept falling really hard into the snow, and was yelling quite loudly. I touched one of their hands, it was incredibly cold. There was sort of a lot of confusion when they arrived, and I was just standing out in the wind slowly freezing. We conferred on a course of action, for we couldn't house these girls, nor could we stay outside with them. Being that is was about a mile walk back through the cold into the wind to get to their house, we thought it best to tell my friends mom, and have her drive them home. Its sort of "biting the bullet" but it had to be done.
These girls started walking back, unaware of our decision to have his mom wake up to take them home. So as they were walking down the road I sort of stopped in my driveway and watched them walk under the light of a full moon. They began to separate as one went off into a field and the other went up the road. I decided to head up the road and at least tell them to stick together on the road so they would be spotted and picked up easily. The "lead" girl wanted me to take her booze, i figured it was in both of our interests. The other two girls were delusional and crying, I decided to give up my trusty gloves to them, I was genuinely concerned for their welfare, something that I seldom experience. I walked for about 5 minutes with my hands exposed to the cold, and by the time i opened my door and stepped into the marvelous warmth of my house, they were beat red. I could barely feel anything or do any delicate motor movements for a good 10 of 15 additional minutes.
I'm just playing this situation over in my head. I'm wondering what they would do if they had to walk back home. In fact, I'm not absolutely one hundred percent sure they did make it. The only confirmation was a text message from my friend saying they did.
I'm writing this to gather my thoughts, and I guess to ask opinions on this. Its hard to truly grasp the intensity of the cold unless you were out there. I wonder if they would have gotten fucked up, if they had to walk back home. One could venture a guess that a passer by on the road would at least stop to investigate. People walking outside at that time, in this weather is a bit unorthodox.
I live in western NY, near buffalo. I'm 16 years old.

Re: The biting cold (long)
This is where shit goes bad. These nights are the ones I can do without, especially when the temperature is -30 like it is right now. You did no wrong, and you in fact showed them more courtesy than many would have. You can't walk every drunk chick home on every cold night though man, even though it feels like you should. Theres just too many of them. Hopefully they (at least the two especially wasted ones) got bad frostbite and strongly reconsider ever going on a drunken wandering into a cold night ever again. Responsibility sucks, when it leaves you feeling like shit for all the things you really aren't responsible for.

Re: The biting cold (long)
Couldn't you, piece of shit, just say that you drove home a couple of drunk girls that dressed to lightly in a very cold night, and that you're worried about them?
No, we all had to know that you take drugs, what you were wearing and what were the girls wearing. Know what? I DON'T GIVE A FUCK!
Learn to resume, you piece of shit! I read all through just to find "I'm not sure they made it, although I took them almost in front of their house."
Shit! I expected something more! Next time, don't wax lyrical, will you?
In the end, what the FUCK was your question? They made it home, and you got confirmation from a friend.
Good.
If they, hypothetically speaking, froze to death and GOT RAPED BY THE MOTHERFUCKING YETI is NOT your fault.
No one would have to give a shit for a bunch of stupid, blind-drunk 15 year olds.

Re: The biting cold (long)
I didn't drive them home, and I didn't take them almost to their house.
I got off the road and left them out there when there were cars coming.
You didn't have to read it, it was for my sake more than yours, but thanks for the input!

Re: The biting cold (long)
Dude... whats the point of this topic? Should we rest your nerves? Are you maybe afraid that you perhaps sentenced them to a cold death, or maybe that you pass up the occasion to get a free blowjob from them?
In such a situation it depends, it they were pretty Id help them, making some social ties with them. If they were ugly Id leave them alone, maybe even take some of their stuff if they were drunk enough. Chances, risk... Its all so unexpected!

Re: The biting cold (long)
Oh no, 10 degrees! And windchill so it feels like -5! Your hands must have really pathetic blood circulation if that made them numb in 5 minutes
You could sleep naked outside in that temperature and still wake up in the morning. You're no hero

Re: The biting cold (long)
I agree with pretty much all the other flames. This thread sucks balls. It definatly doesn't deliver. When I starteed reading about drunk chicks I figured it would lead to you potentially messinga round with them or something not so gay. And yes you are a fucking pussy as bitch. 10 degrees isn't that cold especially with all the gear you had on.

Re: The biting cold (long)
Ill go with the minority here....I respect your post and realise it is a way of venting your thought's. It goes one step farther than simply writing it in a txt file or something. Somebody else gets to read it, and it reminds me of those situations in life where you feel responsible for some shit, but in the end you really aren't, and you still feel like it was your duty to do something about it.
Good late night read for me, thank's.

Re: The biting cold (long)
I was outside for a total of five minutes, spread out in three trips earlier tonight... and that was about two hours ago.
My feet still haven't recovered. Don't underestimate cold weather.

Because he's a pansy who'd cry at -30 when your hands actually start getting cold. Because I hate people who talk about brutal winter when it's -5 outside. It's like saying how you were asaulted by a nigger when in reality some spaniard bumped into you in the cashier queue and didn't say sorry

Whatever, it doesn't have to be -30 for you to die in the cold. -5 with windchill means that bare skin will fall to that temperature after a set amount of time exposed. Your body can't maintain heat when battling sub zero temperatures with exposed skin. Furthermore, it doesn't even matter what the temperature was, if theres snow for some drunk chick to pass out face first in, then she could die. Stick your arm in a snowbank for 30 minutes, then report back here with severe frostbite, and guaranteed tissue damage. If one of those girls passed out in the field with even an arm in the snow, she'd wake up the next morning with a fucking black limb, if at all. Theres no need to flame him so hard, he was just getting out some thoughts anyway. I really didn't need to type this much. Basically, leave him alone.

Hmmm, I am in Canada, we are on the metric system, your profile states you are in finland, also in the metric system. A random website that popped up when I typed in finland temperature states that finland has a mean temp of 5.3 degrees C and winter temps that go below -20C. Yes, I am aware that it does likely dip to ungoddly lows of -30, I am in Canada, I know that such temps exist, but -5F is slightly colder then -20 Celcius, and if you are honestly telling me that you can sleep naked in minus 20 weather and expect to wake up the next day...
