A Girl
There is this girl in my class who seems to be a really great person. I always catch her looking back at me but i have never really talked to her, because i think that she would be out of my league. What do you think would be the best way to go about this?

Re: A Girl
"Hello."
The league thing is bullshit. Every person on earth goes through the human condition, any perceived superiority is fake.
You'd be surprised how down-to-earth you'd probably find her if you just stopped putting her on a pedestal. She's looking back at you when you look, for gods sakes. Need I say more?
One word. All it takes.

You speak truth.
An irritating fact, indeed. :/

Re: A Girl
Slap her across the face then stomp her teeth out. She's in your league now, go at it with a smile.

Re: A Girl
I hate that "she's out of my league.." shit!!
That's part low self esteem talking, part the nasty part of yourself that wants you to never do anything and regret it for the rest of your life.
For all you know, she's thinking the same thing about you!!
Basically, you'll never know what will be unless you try. If you dont try, you dont know what you might lose.

Re: A Girl
Fuck the whole league shit. I used to think that, but yeah, that has changed. Basicly, I'm a pretty typical totsean guy, kinda geeky, definitely not a friend of the preps. But, I met this girl a couple months ago and the fact that she's kindof a prep and I'm kinda geeky doesn't matter. Of course, I didn't know she was popular when I met her, and she didn't think I was geeky (and still doesn't). We get along like old friends though. Believe me, there are no leagues as far as dating goes unless you both care about stupid labels that fuckwits place on people.
If anything though, you should refuse to go out with her if she's a different "league" as you say. Most preps (with few exceptions) are assholes, even though they try to present the image that they are nice people. (I'm assuming that the girl you like is a prep, are you not?) I've hung around some preps over the years and payed close attention to their conversations and general behavior, and I just have to say that most preps are total deuchebags. Almost all of the nicest people you will meet are the geeks and other outcasts, even if some prep appears to be a nice person. I've had a few friends who were preps, and I was the one to quit having anything to do with them because I saw what kind of people they really are. And dude, preps act differently in school than out of school. Most are fucking pussies who talk shit behind peoples backs and won't say anything to anyones face. They just try to be friends with people to push themselves up the social ladder. And they can be so incredibly fucking boring. All any of the preps I've ever known wanted to talk about what sports THEY play, how much money THEY make, how they recked THEIR nice new car. THEY want to go to the mall and shit. FUCK PREPS, FUCK THE "LEAGUE" CONCEPT.
But, just say hi and give it a shot. Worst she can do is say no. Then after a while you will hopefully see what I'm talking about or you get lucky and she turns out to be actually be descent person and not just appear that way.
Or maybe I just see things from a different angle. Hell, maybe I just have bad luck. Whatever. But, I'm still going to stick to what I said.

And yes, start with a "hi". You have nothing to lose here anyway. So, rehearse the situation in your mind till you're pretty confident, then go for it. It's a win/win.
