Default Problems with my girlfriend...

Okay, before I begin. Please don't flame me for this, I'm really not in the mood.

I have been dating this girl for almost a year now, and our relationship has been great so far. We would talk on the phone every day when we both got off of work, and we would have the best time when we were with eachother. I'd take her out to eat, take her to the movies, basically I thought she was the girl I'd spend the rest of my life with.

Lately, however, we've become distant. She'd promise to call me back some nights (we live a half hour away from eachother, and it's hard to see eachother a lot with work/class schedules), and she never does anymore. We used to talk every second we could manage, but things have changed.

I don't know what I should say to her. I'm stuck. I hate seeing her upset, so I don't want to upset her at all... I try to tell her like it is, but most of the time that doesn't change anything. I give her space, she gives me space, but we go days and days without talking lately.

I don't know what else to do. I need some help, Totse. Thanks for any help/advice you can give me...

Well, it looks like you thought wrong.

If she's not calling you back when she says she will, then she's obviously pulling away.

Probably fucking some other guy who lives fifteen minutes away from her.

Good luck with it, man.

Just ask her. Don't worry if you upset her, couples upset eachother sometimes. If it is important to you, you gotta bring it up. It does sound like she is pulling away, or maybe she wants you to call HER when she don't call... Nah, she is pulling away or losing interest. Ask her.

It sounds to me like your relationship is about to end. There's nothing wrong with that, it's not the end of the world. If your relationship does end look at it this way. At least you only wasted a little under a year and not longer.

Which is why you should do nothing to artificially prolong your relationship. If your relationship works it shouldn't take extreme measures to save it. Sacrifice nothing. Sacrifice on your part may prolong your relationship but it will end eventually and all you'll have gained is the heartache of a long bad relationship. That and a fuckload of wasted time that you could have spent pursuing other women more worthy of your attention.

So in closing talk to your girlfriend. Tell her how you're feeling, that you feel your relationship isn't working and that you're thinking of ending it. If she says she's sorry and changes her ways good, if she says that she agrees then fuck her you're better off without her.

Whatever you do though don't go on a "break". You'll just lose the iniative and feel pathetic when she finally leaves you for the replacement she finds while on said "break".

She's made it perfectly clear that she would not cheat on me. I told her from the beginning, "if you don't like me, dump me", and she made it clear that she would.

Oh well, I'm done losing sleep over it. We've patched things up for the time being. I'm going to drive up to see her tomorrow.

By the way, I do give her sex. Haha.

Thanks everyone.

All suffering is rooted in the desire for permanence. Once you release the desire for permanence, and accept that everything is ever-changing and the most you can do is savour the moment... things will stop hurting. A little.

Either accept that your relationship no longer has that newness to it and be happy with what it is, for as long as it is, or end it now.

Damn. Very good. And you seem to understand that at a very young age.

I wasted three years on a relationship I knew should have been done at a year into it.

I'm 20 and may have found the girl that's completely right for me. I posted a thread about it a few nights ago. I love that girl. But i still understand now, if things prove that it's not going to work, I'll end it. I'm not going to pussy foot around. But we've had 99.9 percent good times. I've upset her a few times, but I'm always there for her to cry on my shoulder. She seems to think I'm the greatest guy that ever had a dick. I rock. She rocks. We'll fucking see.

Keep searching bro. If shit ain't gonna work, it just ain't. I know that now, I didn't before. I got comfortable and scared. Now I realize a few things i didn't.

Same thing with me right now. Ignoring my calls even. I shouldn't take it personally, he does it to everyone. But still, it sucks.
