Default I still shake...

Every time I talk to my ex of 6 months I find myself shaking, makings mainly. It is like how I was when I give speeches in front of people.

This is weird because I am over her, but when I was talking to her to today, I felt nervous.

Maybe it was because I know she was wearing a sweatshirt that wasn't hers, her boyfriends.

What does this mean? I am not as over her as I thought. I hated knowing where she had come from. Has anyone else this type of experience. FTW

It means you aren't mature enough to talk to your ex without feeling jealousy about something that used to "belong to you" is now off getting it on with someone else.

Deal with it the way almost everyone else in your position does: Don't talk to her anymore.

Answer to tall all questions is "No" but from conversation she seemed happy about the relationship, not that she let on that she didn't she is a fucking wall when it comes to her feelings.

Don't try and grow up, that takes time and a LOT of work... And really now, the thing is that "being friends" just doesn't work most of the time. Especially with girls that you get together for no reason aside from the obvious "she was hot" one.

Really, the only way to "stay friends" is to be friends before you date. And then, that's when it takes being an adult. I doubt, though, that you were friends with her for that long before you two hooked up (as it should be, and rightly so!) so don't sweat it.

Just move on, and remember that staying friends doesn't work.

I am in college; it is time.

You are right, we weren't friends for that long before we dated. I see what you are saying in that respect.

Thanks again Gus, your advice is a true asset to Totse.

The Gus man is right as you know, but it's untrue that being friends after the fact is impossible: It can, of course, be difficult.

In the end you learn to manage your jealousy much better through instances like this, so look at it as a learning process.

Most of all, think less about it or push it to the back of your mind and just get on with it mate.

Good luck and godspeed!

I like the idea of using it as a learning experience. Help me learn to push feelings out of my mind and just roll with it.

Best way to become comfortable with uncomfortable situations is to put yourself in them. This more likely what I will do. Good thoguht, stab.

I couldn't talk to my ex without thinking about getting back with her for a while... then stopped talking to her... then found out that who she was fucking was my best friend... stopped for a while... got back together with her... realized it wasn't working and broke it off... and still want to be with her.

I would tremble when I would run into my ex. But then, I still loved him. It's been over 10 years since I last saw him, but I would probably react the same way even today.

I would like to find out though. I would like to run into him again, just to find out for sure.

You need to eliminate her from your life.

If you dont eliminate an ex from your life completely, they'll be forever appearing and then dissapearing and then re-appearing in your life, making it one rather grisly depressing experience.

EDIT: And the trembling thing, yeah that's normal.

Usually if I see an ex wherever I'll start to tremble, my head will start to throb slightly and I'll get a bit giddy. I also have this rather annoying habit to reach for the nearest sharp thing and try to plunge it into his throat. I'm working on that one.

Gee, I just want to find out if I stopped loving him.

Every once in a while, I'll dream of him. I always have, but much less frequently in the past 2 1/2 years.

OC6, you still think you love someone you broke up with?

I couldnt imagine doing that. If I get dumped, that's it. All the love turns to hate. Sure, there's still love there deffinately, but it's funneled into a horrible twisty hate.

Oh yoyo...who knows...:P

I loved him from the age of around ten and thru my twenties. Our paths would cross every five years or so and we'd get together for a while then part ways.

Ah...how he broke my heart. But not my spirit, I suppose. (as silly as that might sound)

I have no ill feelings toward him. No reason to really, it just did not work out for us.

I dated a man who, it turned out, was his roommate at the time. I met this other guy while on a date with his friend. He mentioned my first loves cousin's name. The other guy and I didn't work out either. So I phoned my first loves cousin who told me how to get in touch with him. It turned out very odd. I was so struck by this other man, but my first love interferred a bit. I still would get weak in the knees and shakey when he would be around. This other guy, it turned out, had been married to my first loves sister. So many twists and turns followed. It got too messy...so I bailed.

Then about five years later I ran into my first love again...kind of unexpectedly (although every time we ran into each other I dreamt of him a few days prior). But I still felt that same...feeling when we did. This time I did not pursue it, and left it be. Haven't seen him since, but still...at least once a year he enters my dreams.

I am just curious...if the same would happen. I think not, because of...well...my feelings for jack. They're very similar.

Still...I'm curious to know. But not curious enough to...find out.

Aside from one man with whom I lived for several years and lives a few blocks from me, he is the only guy who just would not fade from my life.

It's a curiosity more than a desire, I guess.

Oooh....that's a lot of writing for me. :P

Just think of all the dirty little things you did to her. And laugh about that another guy is taking your sloppy seconds.

It gets the job done, and makes you have a cocky little grin on your face when you talk to her, which she will either find incredibly wierd, or incredibly sexy. Life is a risk.

But heres some advice for everyone. Im so mentally/emotionally fucked up, you shouldnt listen to me. But you should at the same time. Confusing aint it?

I saw a girl who I know is dating a random ex of mine today. I tapped her on the shoulder and gave her a really friendly smile (she used to know me), and as I was being so polite she couldnt say anything. But I know she was thinking about all the stuff I did with her boyfriend and all the fun we had, and I know she's writhing inside.

OC6: a lot of writing indeed! I have saved it as a text file.

Face it man, your not over her. You THINK you might be, but your not.

Now go do something productive to stop thinking about her.
