Default marriage

I have just seen my dad cry for the first time. It finally hit him that he won't be able to see us for a long time.

Im just wondering why do more and more modern day marriages fail?

Because it's socially acceptable to get a divorce.

Marriage is awesome if you find the right person. It's just a bitch finding that person.

And even sometimes it still gets fucked up if you do find them

But in the end, I still say it's worth it.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out.

Thanks. I still think it'll work out in the end, though. We're both psychotic crazy fuckers like that.

I'm having a good time in the mean time, so don't worry about ol' Kikey.

all of the comments so far have been good quality. so QFT to all of the above.

marriage fails because people are weak, and its so much easier to get a divorce and run from the problems, than it is to fix them. people are stupid, weak and shallow. once you can realise that, you can them work on yourself to not be stupid weak and shallow, and be the best person you can be, so divorce wont happen to you.

Few people understand the significance of marriage anymore. It never used to be something to do once you'd known someone for six months.

Damn right. Used to be your parents would come to an arrangement with her parents for the mutual benefit of both families.

Now there’s all this love and attraction to deal with. The outcome of which is that I’m getting absolutely no tang.

I’m with you Happy. Let’s jump in this little delorean of mine and get married to some random bitch at fourteen. She’s just as likely to be hot as ugly.

Why not? Is she moving you far away?

True.

More recently, however, I believe people used to court for a number of years before finally getting married. They didn't live together but I imagine that if they really didn't like each other this would have become apparent before the marriage.

I'll stick with the girl I've got, but I'll rent you some of my sister's whore friends for a pay-monthly marriage if you like.

I still believe in marriage as a great concept and institution. It's just that most people don't seem to understand what it's for, nowadays.

I considered it a legal issue, but the idea seems more enticing at the moment.

Marriage is like trying to land a submarine on the moon. It's simply not what it was designed for.
