I had a girl.
When we met, I was interested, but she was too young for me. It was awkward, but nonetheless enjoyable in a humorous way.
As I got to know her better, I came to realise that she was more than I gave her credit for. I started to take her seriously.
She was dumped, and I wondered how anyone could do that. I asked her out. She was elated.
We lasted a month, a very good and wondrous month, before I started to wander. There was another girl who was more like me, and that I had known for some time. I broke it off.
She wasn't very happy, but nonetheless we stayed friends. I didn't actively pursue this other girl, I thought I'd let things run their course.
She found someone else, and that was that.
I was fine with that.
The first girl had had a boyfriend in this short time, nothing serious. He pissed her off, she dumped him. I took her back.
The next day, I was out. I took it well as really, it was my fault to begin with.
She's now happily invested in someone else, while I sit here...
Point of this post: Do you know the feeling when you have somebody, one person special, who you want to spend time with? Always?
This girl is her. Yet I messed her around, and thus, I am not him to her. I'm destined to become just another of her close male friends. Something I feared from the start.
I cannot share anything on a deeper level with the only person I feel I can.
I shot myself in the foot, and there's nothing I can do about it. To inflict her with my feelings now would be to rob her of at least a little part of the amazing relationship she has right now.
It's happened before, and I know this one will be a big one for her. I don't have a hope in hell.
I just needed to tell someone.

Remember this. Use it wiseley. And dont fuck up again.
On a nicer side, atleast you've learnt your lesson and wont make the same mistake again.
Also, perhaps she wasnt all that great but you're suffering big yellow taxi syndrome.
dont worry about it. There are plenty more fish in the sea, and quite a few girls, too!

It's better than poking yourself in the eye with a stick. You'll live.

By complicating the issue. After posting this I wrote a very cautionary email to her. It should straddle the line between respecting her relationship and telling her how I feel rather well.
Remember, I'm fairly young and she's even younger, so we both have a lot to learn when it comes to not taking smaller stuff so seriously.
Rabbitweed: She used the same excuse I did the first time. I won't tell you what, but it was rather generic. Also, I found your joke quite funny
Yoyo: What is this big yellow taxi syndrome I hear you speak of? Is it an anecdote for something much more... sinister? Shall I expect to be charging everyone for standing around in traffic? Do I get to sit on beads and play horrible music? Oh please let it be so!
Also, yeah I've made this mistake before, although I tend to learn in increments when it comes to love in it's romantic forms, meaning I fucked this one up less than last time but I still fucked it up.
The next one I will fuck up less, and so on so forth until I can fuck up no longer.
*flexes muscles*
Yeeeaaarg!
Thank ye for the kind and stern words, my fellow totse dwellers. If I could, I'd bunch you all together and give you as roses to win her heart back.
And it would work too so watch your backs!

"They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
With a pink hotel, a boutique
And a swinging hot spot
Dont it always seem to go
That you dont know what youve got
Till its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
They took all the trees
Put em in a tree museum
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see em
Dont it always seem to go
That you dont know what youve got
Till its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Hey farmer farmer
Put away that d.d.t. now
Give me spots on my apples
But leave me the birds and the bees
Please!
Dont it always seem to go
That you dont know what youve got
Till its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Late last night
I heard the screen door slam
And a big yellow taxi
Took away my old man
Dont it always seem to go
That you dont know what youve got
Till its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot"
Meaning perhaps you didnt like her as much as you feel you do now just because you cant have her?

Re: I had a girl.
Naw, I liked her just as much when I knew I could have her. It was just easier to control those feelings because I was safe.
