Default Ever since people heard I was going to Basic,

Girls can't seem to get enough of me.

I have known for a while I was going, I put it off til now. In the middle of last year, and I decided to put off going untill now. Since I have told people the news, Girls that I knew from highschool, from after have been emailing me telling us we need to hang out.

I found that kinda weird, I mean just because I am going in the army girls want more of me. Too bad I am leaving the seventh?!? * not sure on the date*

I scored a 97/99 on the test *My recruiter was amazed * which gave me pretty much any job I wanted. And once I am done with basic, I can go to any base, I am trying to get in to the one in germany, but I have to wait.

So, what is it with girls and guys in the army? I mean I am not that much of an asshole, like a lot of army guys seem, so I have that going for me. But why all the sudden when people found out, do they want to hang out?

I don't get it.

Three of my friends are going into the Marines and girls haven't really been all over them at all.

But maybe going into the military makes you look strong and courageous? Girls like that, I'm assuming.

Perhaps it's just that the girls you meet can be really stupid?

Promotion = money.

I'm an Intelligence Specialist, I'm 19 years old, and I'm qualified to put missiles on foreheads. Not only that, I'm also qualified to brief Generals and Admirals, and am presently working on my degree in political science.

So at 19, not only am I able to sustain myself, have my own home, paying for my own college as well, and I tend to go out every friday/saturday night. My parents do not support me one bit.

What do you do for a living?

How do you figure? I was in the marine corps for about 15 years, and went through desert storm. It seemed like all I saw was the

army taking shit. I'd like to see you get some balls and show up at Parris Island. Then maybe you'd do better than hiding behind your computer and bitching about a branch you know nothing about.

Also, if you get your pick of bases (never heard anyone actually getting to pick) head over to Eagle Base in Bosnia. Hot Balkan chicks, that's where I'd go.

Default Re: Ever since people heard I was going to Basic,

Yea so to the people saying the tests are rigged for everyone to get a good score not true theres so many people I talked to at MEPS(Military Entrance Procesing Station) that got like 30-50s, one guy I talked to got a 9. I mean the test is pretty easy but yea not everyone can get in the 90's. I myself got a 91.

Fuck anyone that says the military is a waste of prime of your life, I mean like the 19 year old missle guy said hes got a great job, good pay, and is set at 19 making good money with good job security how is that a waste of his life? I myself am going to have college payed for $20,000 sign on bonus plus good pay when I get back from Basic and AIT. Of course yea there is the risk that you get deployed over seas but like all great things comes some sacrafices.

And to those talking shit if you haven't been in the service shut the fuck up. I have respect for all branchs we all are on the same team and serve the same great nation. I mean I make fun of the chairforce and all because they have some stuck up fuckers in it but I do realize that each branch has its jack offs and its good guys. We all have our good sides and bad sides. And so what if the marines are bullet sponges and such without boots on the ground all the missles and airplanes in the world won't get the mission done because we need guys to have support their. Only way we could complete the war in iraq with only missles and such and no boots on the ground would be wipe the place off the map. Who cares if someone is willing to risk their life or not doesn't make them dumb, you may say oh your dying for oil or bush, id say fuck you im dying for my fellow soldeir that got caught up in the bullshit.

Oh and as far as why girls like military I have no fucking clue but when me and my friend would go recruiting at the school before he left for basic bitchs would stare at us and gawk, like when we talked to one of the classes all the girls kept giving us those looks like damn hes good looking, and never happend before we were there in uniform.

So avoid leaving them on the nightstand or hanging on your bed because chances are they will be gone when she leaves. Could anyone offer any insight as to why this is? Find a Navy recruiter, tell him you want to be an Intelligence Specialist (IS), there are ALWAYS openings. We are badly undermanned. (Whats an IS do? We're basically we're information overlords) Pass the 9 weeks of Boot, and work your ass off during "A" School. When it comes to picking orders, and tell them you want to be a "Strike Analyst"

If they have an opening, its going to be a difficult 8 weeks. But you become E-4 at the end of all that training.

Its a great job, while everyone else is sweating their ass off in the Persian Gulf, your going outside on the Flight Deck with a jacket on because its freezing balls inside your office.

To Bushy: Your recruiter realized like the rest of the world how incredibly dumb and gullible you are and fed you whatever line to put your name on the contract. You do NOT get a choice of base, however you do get to choose your MOS based on your test scores. Chances are you'll be in some base in BumFuck Antarctica and be posting to us a year from now about how the "natives" want your dick. Get a fuckin grip dude!

To everyone else: I can't believe I'm the first to say this, but is ANYONE believing that Bushy is suddenly getting female attention? This is the fool that puts up epic posts about how a girl "wants him" just because she looked into his eyes as she was handing over his happy meal.

To all the EWWW-RAH military fools that are claiming how "great" their lives are: Gimme a fuckin break. You can spew all you want about no taxes, free school, retiring early...blah, blah, blah. One thing you are forgetting is about QUALITY of life. All you are is some subserviant pawn, puppet, bitch to the system. You have signed away your freedoms of CHOICE and at the very least have a very sketchy future. You'll be bopping all over the world, chances are no woman will remain faithful to you and if you do have kids they'll be complete strangers. And god forbid should you actually see combat and more than likely suffer from PTSD the rest of your life and have severe issues while trying to settle back into a "peaceful" society....that is if you live to tell the tale. All for what? All this empty rhetoric of "protecting our country", "being a man", "helping my fellow solider"....blah, blah, fucking blah. Didn't any of you read a history book in school? You ever hear the word VIETNAM? And you will WILLINGLY put yourself in possible harms way (and suffer the after affects of your military stint) for some silly degree or "badge of honor". Spare me your naive bullshit. Go ahead, go to some third world nation being someone's pawn and do what they say WHEN they say it....while myself and the rest of the world sits back in a nice cushy office making our OWN decisions. How fucking naive can someone be?

LOL @ "Liberal". Sorry bub, I have ZERO political affiliation, nor am I "speaking out against the military". What I AM doing is questioning the intellect of people that have no other options in life other than to become someone's slave, and then actually BELIEVE they are living some "noble" life. Again this is AFTER the Vietnam fiasco, blindly thinking that it would never happen again. And by you implying that I'm "staying home" with the women and children is some twisted line of thinking that you will now suddenly be a "Man" because you've willingly put yourself in such a desolate life. That's right buddy, you be Mr. Tough Guy Macho Rambo that defines their "manhood" by how many assinine orders you can do for whatever ranking person comes in your vicinty that hour, that minute. Just remember, while you are out "saving the world" and jumping how high because some other person tells you to....I'll be sitting nicely in my home doing what the fuck I want, when I want. If I wanna have lunch at whatever hour, I'll do so when I see fit. If I want a blowjob I'll get one from my wife....not pray to god the rest of my platoon doesn't fuck up the barracks so you can get a weekend furlough and hopefully find some STD infested whore put her mouth on your cock.

Go ahead Mr. Manly Man, why don't you continue explaining to us how you are such a "man" because you have CHOSEN to be someone else's bitch for valuable years of your life. Come see us in 15 years (if you are still alive and not dead after stepping on a landmine in some god forsaken third world country), and tell us how "great" your life is and most importantly how much of a "man" you are.

LOL @ you and your amazingly naive mindset.

Now drop and give me 20 and be a good little bitch....got it?

Don't mind me if I don't respond to any more of your pollyanna bullshit. I'm gonna lean back in my chair and continue to read some more threads, who knows I may even take a nap. Ya know why? Because I WANT TO....not because some other fool TOLD ME TO!

As you were maggot........

Actually the person flipping fries at McDonald's IS still free. They can wake up tomorrow and say "fuck it, I quit" and go someplace else. Just like the factory worker, CEO making 500k a year....just about ANY civilian job. And what about the military fools? Yeah, they can pick out a day planner and start counting down the days until their "service" is up. (Oops, lets now forget about them keeping their fingers crossed during a time of war and getting called back up after their active duty)

As for my wife, I'm halfway to 10 years married and it still isn't getting old. See, I banged enough broads before her and had plenty of crazy sex. You think after all the years of pussy I had, I would be foolish enough to marry a dead fuck? Nope, sorry....she is a freak in bed and has been since we got together.

Whether my son turns out to be a gangsta or not, who the hell knows. One thing that is for sure though.....he sure as fuck isn't going to be some unthinking sheep raised with the mindset that he has to go in the military to "become a man" or any of that other mindless empty rhetoric. And ya know what? Gangstas STILL have more freedoms (and make more rational choices) than your average military grunt.

I got a 64 on my test

Come on man, you don't have to be brilliant to score well on that test. I got a 96 and that was with minimal effort.

At least your honest and present your thoughts with sincerity. For the record, I don't disrespect the military or those that serve in it. What I do have a problem with is naive chumps that go in for all the wrong reasons and then spew how great military life is vs. civilian life. I still am a military geek, and that was my whole kick in my early teens. (Oh yeah, my ASVAB was a 98) My problem was as I got into my later teens and really THOUGHT about societal and govermental issues, I realized how hypocritical the whole system is.

The military is just like a slice of normal life. You have your good, bad and then completely idiotic members. Yellow you sound like one of the good ones, whereas a few others on this thread just sound profoundly naive. Good luck to you.

Sorry man, you're already disqualified, they won't accept immigrants.

In regards to this "structured lifestyle", ya'll keep bitchin about, man after basic you dont even recognize it. Its like going to work everyday, and living with your bestfriends. And its even easier when you remember there are tons of people around you going through the same shit, and it helps when times get rough.

I mean, yeah, we're at war, but I enlisted knowing about it. And I'm fucking proud of that! You tell me I lost all my Constitutional rights in shit, hell yeah I did, just to walk down the street and hear about some bitch whining about the war on terrorism in shit.

I'm extremely proud of what I do. I actually enjoy going to work everyday. I actually love my life. In my workspace, I hear about people doing some of the stupidest shit, but I can actually hold an intellectual conversation with those same morons. Can you say that DaGuru? What about you MJR Deus.

Let me ask you this DaGuru and MJR Deus, what is the meaning of your life? I maybe a "pawn" to the government, but at least when people see me in uniform, I represent the greatest military power ever forged in world history. I am making history. So yeah, I maybe a "pawn", but at least I am a respected pawn. You? Your just as much of a pawn as I am. But thats an arguement for a different time.

Yeah, some days it sucks. Yeah, war sucks. But guess what, I got thousands of shipmates/comrades by my side, going through the same shit, and that makes life easier. They carry you as much as you carry them. And when you see some guy wearing the same uniform as you, man thats your fucking brother. These people who want to go back to Iraq because they left their unit there, they ain't crazy, they left their family behind. And I dont know ANY job except the military where thats possible.

Okay, yes, its harder to keep a relationship going. I wont lie. The single guys have it best. No worries, nothing to worry about. You grow up here. Your taught skills you will use in the civilian world. And honestly, for those of you going to basic, stay fucking single. One of my friends is going through Army Basic right now, and he's getting homesick and missing his girlfriend, things I never had to deal with.

So to keep this on topic: Guys and ladies going in, stay single, enjoy the extra attention, and get laid in shit if it comes up, but dont have a girlfriend when your gone, it just makes life difficult.

Edit: We REALLY need to make a Military Forum to start askin and answerin military related questions.

How hard is it for Soldiers and NCOs in the US to get an honourable discharge? I thought it was relatively easy provided you weren't in the middle of a tour of duty...

My job?

http://www.goarmy.com/JobDetail.do?id=174

I just signed up. I leave next week. I'm kinda worried because the FBI is going to check my ENTIRE background, for my top secret clearence.

But the perks include. a 20k+bonus, 1500 a month, 71k for college, and when I get out after 5 years, I am told that the FBI/CIA will pretty much hand me a job, worth a shit ton, and more clearence that I would know what to do with.

The job it self is worth 250k * That's what the clearence level costs *

If you're worried about it, then chances are you won't be getting the clearance. They have access to not only your open criminal records but also anything thats been expunged, stricken, or otherwise removed from your record. This includes anything you did as a juvenile. Don't get your hopes up for getting that clearance anytime soon either. I havent seen many E-1/E-2's with Top Secret clearance. Chances are you'll have "Confidential" clearance though, perhaps even "secret" with that job. I'm not tryin' to bring you down or anything and I wish you the best of luck. Just remember that for secret and top secret background investigations they will not only interview the references you provide but they will obtain names of additional people who know you and interview them as well. Good Luck

Goodness, I love how everyone thinks the tests are rigged

I scored the highest in my highschool on the ASVAB, I scored 99% in both mechanical and technical science categories, nationwide.

but alas my AFQT was only an 82

*damn math *

the average score is a 28-56

a 31 is required for entrance to army and marines (there are certain exceptions)

35 for coast gaurd and navy and a 36 for air force.

But amazing score Bushy, and I hope I dont get the sudden influx of girls wanting me when I get ready for basic.... because my girlfriend would be very angry :P

I'm not worried about getting clearence, and it is top secret.

I just don't like the idea of the FBI showing up at peoples doors asking about me.
