I just lost a friend.
I made a thread in SG about it, so if you want more details just look there.
But what the fuck do you do or say? I mean, I've never had a friend die, its so fucking unexpected.
I dont know what to say to anybody or anything. I mean, I can barely get any words out to my friends.
He was such a nice guy, im guna miss him like fuck.
Just what the fuck do I do? And say? To people I know.
And I dont even now how im feeling. Since i've heard the news this morning, i've cried, become angry, and laughed at it.
I wish I couldda said goodbye to him properly.
But as deus said, Carpe Diem. Life goes on.

Hercules wouldn't have stood for this! If Iolaus was killed he would have stormed the gates of Hell itself!
You're a terrible, terrible friend. And nothing compared to Kevin Sorbo (http://www.jacneed.com/PhotoFile/Kevin_Sorbo.jpg)

Re: I just lost a friend.
Don't you realize what this means? You can basically act out and do whatever you want, and you'll be forgiven under the banner of "He was affected badly by the death of a friend".
Aside from the whole "killing himself" incident, your friend sounds pretty cool and he'd probably want you to make the best of things.

Re: I just lost a friend.
I'll sum it up for you, so your head doesn't explode after passing through this:
1) You said you wanted to laugh when you read the newspaper. Of course. One side of you wanted to scream out loud: OWNED, BITCH!.
2) Then you realized it was your friend that died, and that wasn't comming back. You we're angry he had been so "weak", or perhaps that he wasn't enough brave to tell you what was going on.
3) Life goes on. Make him a homage. Put in a (this is no witchcraft, ok?) small satchet some weed or some shrooms, but don't let that shine out to the public, as they will ALL blame you about his death.
Then, when they bury him, let in on the coffin and say something about: "For the fun we never had... Enjoy it where ever you go buddy!" And then whisper: "Watch out, I've heard there are a lot of narcs on the afterlife... You know, they get killed daily!"
Just behave like he was just sleeping there, and not dead. It might sound emo/paranoid, but it will help you assume the reality.
4)Remember him dearly, and whatever grudges you had on him, just forget them. If there is an afterlife, he'll like it.
Oh, and last but not least: PUNCH in the face everyone who dares talk bad about him for a time. When that time passes (like 1 month), proceed to kill those people/prank call them with your bud's voice.
(Oops, I remember I haven't taken my meds...)

Re: I just lost a friend.
A friend of mine lost a friend a while ago. Now, maybe I'm not the one to talk, but, it is somewhat logical that you suffered a mood swing, one even including laughing.
You're a bit confused, it's all perfectly normal, a few of my friends laughed to when they were at a funeral.
Death is a nasty thing, We prefer it wouldn't happen at all, but whether you do it yourself or die of a disease or get killed or whatever, one day it just happens. People dying around you is a part of life, goïng forward, continuïng with our lives is a part of growing up, and not many manage to, they keep sulking and die sad themselves.
You are a strong person, you will be fine, I don't know if there's an afterlife or anything, I hope not (else I'll be goïng to hell). I don't know what kind of person your friend was, but all we can do is hope that he's in a better place now. It might sound heartless, but get over it, I don't mean forget about it, stop caring, but pull yourself together!
offcourse the thought of your friend will be there every die, and the fact that he died. But that doesn't mean you can't move on. Sure, nothing will be the same now, and that nothing can replace him. But the end of his life doesn't mean the end of yours!
Again, I don't know what kind of a guy he was, but he was your friend, and I know friends care for eachother, and I know he cared, and if possible still does care about you, and seeïng you this sad will make him sad to, because, even if there would be an afterlife, there's nothing he can do about your sadness.
I don't know if he ever comforted you when you were sad, and would help you out with your sadness, but now hes there he can't do anything about it, and not beïng able to help my friends, that's something I couldn't live without, and if he's that kind of person, I bet he would think the same.
I rambled from one thing on to the other, and the only thing I can tell you is that you need to move on. There is still a way you can say goodbye, just, tell his corpse, I mean, If there would be a connection between this world and if it exists, the hereafter, that should be the connecction, that's what I belive anyway.
I wish you good luck with your problem, I wish I could be of more help.

You have my condolences, for what little they're worth.
You'll remember your friend, this is a positive thing. Don't disrespect the memory. Try to stay away from the crutches of drugs and alcohol.

Re: I just lost a friend.
As other people are saying it is natural to just feel extremely weird. I have never cried at the two deaths I had to go through even though they were the most important people in my life. You will feel really weird for a while. Your body and mind is in a state that can best be described as "what the fuck!" and when you want to feel one thing you will feel another. You were probably really really sad when you started laughing and your mind didn't how how to react to that so it did whatever.
Death is a hard thing to go through eventually you will accept it and feel like shit. It is better than not knowing what you're feeling. At least in my opinion. I hope you get through it all.
Also don't do anything out of the normal, don't smoke anything or take drugs of any kind. Act as if everything was alright, or else you could fuck yourself over big time by becoming addicted to something.
My advice for you do right now, go take a hot bath with some oils and if you're a sports person go running after. Or read a book. Try and stay away from TV or video games for a while if you play/watch it a lot. As death happens all the time in there and will make you feel like crap, even more so than now.
Don't know what else to say so I hope it all works out.

Judging by your post in SG, he wasn't a very close friend. I'd be more sympathetic if you weren't acting so apathetic.

Hopefully it'll show that bottling everything up isn't a good idea.
And I think its an eye opener for all of us. Basically my whole town aged between 14 and 17 is in mourning for the guy

Re: I just lost a friend.
I just lost my son to shaken baby syndrome back in august. My husband shook him when i was at the library. He ended up being a vegtable because he had so much brain damage so i took him off of life support and let him go. You will have alot of mixed feelings when somebody close to you dies, its perfectly normal. My best advice to you is to get into a support group with other people who have lost there loved ones. It really helps to talk about it. Try to hang out with your other friends to keep your mind off of it. Keep yourseif busy. Im very sorry for your loss.

I guess. Apparently its a lot of things that built up, and I guess he couldn't handle it. No one seems to know really. Each person I talk to says a different thing.
His funeral is next week, so I decided I am going to go to it. Say goodbye properly.
And I guess i'm not sad about it too much anymore, on tuesday I just started to cry and cry and couldn't stop, and after that I feel like its been lifted, and now I just look back on everything and smile, but still feel sad that hes gone, just not like i'm going to cry.
If that makes sense, I dunno, I suck with words.

Re: I just lost a friend.
Well... what i've done in time of mourning, is let it all out.
You just gotta find where you can let it all go, any tears, the anger, the curses that'd make a sailor's hair stand on end, it's all gotta come out.
Just keep in mind you don't wanna put other people through what you're going through, as in don't hurt yourself.
I've never lost a close personal friend, only relatives, so I can't relate 100%.

I don't know, what do you do with any other major inconvience? Deal with it.
The quote is from the Unscared Texts of Koton, supposedly the most evil, profane, and obscure book ever, written by a 1000 year old alchemist.

Weird, I thought it was written by the apothecary of the Ultramarines.
