Paranoia
I'm not stoned, but either the ganja has delivered a nice constant state of paranoia or my intuition is kicking in, making me really fucking angry.
So my mate rings me around 11pm asking if I was in the car with my girlfriend, as he is absolutely wasted and about 5 miles from home, walking in the rain. I told him she had just finished work and was coming to see me soon, but I could get him a lift or a taxi, no problem. He told me it doesn't matter, he'll walk.
So about 20 minutes later, I wonder why my girlfriend hasnt phoned or sent me a text message, as she always does after work. I ring her and she informs me she is on her way out to collect my mate!
He fuckin' turned down my help, just to then phone my girlfriend and ask her!
So it's ten to midnight now, Ive drank 5 beer in the past 15 minutes, and Im ready to break...
Oh, I forgot. I rang him when I was off the phone to her and he has turned off his phone.
Now all I can think of is that she is cheating on me with him. I can't exactly ring her again, though. She told me she would ring me, and I dont want to look like an obsessive freak.
...but the paranoia is really getting to me. If she doesnt ring me soon, I think Im gonna break someone. I don't even care who...

Re: Paranoia
I think your friend was just being a drunk retard and you have no reason to be worried. Has you girlfriend given you any reason not to trust her?

Re: Paranoia
Well are they close friends in the first place or something? Maybe he changed his mind and didn't want to bother you by calling back. Maybe he's catching a ride over to your house with her. If they dont show up in the timme you think it takes to get from where they are to your house, then call her.
Dotn freak out just yet man. Give it a few.

Re: Paranoia
Why don't you just text her something benign, like "hey, are you going to be home soon?"

Re: Paranoia
They have met... umm, 3 times. The only reason he has her number is to get in contact with me, same with her and his.
Chels, she has definitely not. We havent been going out very long, though.
I sent her a message asking if she got him lifted and she said yeah and she's coming to see me now. I feel slightly better...
I didnt say in the OP, but part of my paranoia is a slight worry in the back of my head that he will get me back for something I did over 2 years ago, on new years eve. His girlfriend was a friend of mine, and he had been telling me a lot of stories of things they had done which I knew was very unlikely. He also used to put her down a lot, and tell me he was only with her for the sex. When I talked to her about it, it turned out he has been lying to me about everything and he hadnt even fucked her, never mind half the shit he had told me...
So me and her hooked up that night. It was new years eve, and we both had dissappeared from the party. We spent the night together (sexless) and the next day I told her to tell him what had happened. Her and I saw each other for most of that month before deciding to break up and go out seperate ways, and he never showed any sort of emotion over what had happened.
So I still worry about that, to this day...

Re: Paranoia
Well...he didn't want to impose on you and since she was already on her way home...maybe he thought that was an easier solution. Also...his phone could have discharged. That's happened to me before.
Don't jump to conclusions. That's something I do...and it's not the best thing in the world to do...I can tell you that...

It can develop into a very bad habit. I conjure up all sorts of scenarios, sometimes just to prepare me for something bad.
It's not a good thing...

Re: Paranoia
Don't get paranoid. Yet.
When you see your girl again, offhandedly mention: "You know dude turned down a ride from me right before you ended up getting him? Isn't that wierd?"
And watch her reaction.

Re: Paranoia
I dont think Ive been online since posting this thread.
So my SO, my mate and her mate arrived at my house shortly after my last post in this thread. He was as drunk as Ive ever seen him, which is obviously why he was still in the car as he is usually one of those people who seems to think he has outstayed his welcome before he's even in someone's company.
So... I went kinda crazy with him for turning his phone off and turning down my help to ask for hers. He spewed out some senseless drivel while my girlfriend giggled to herself.
We chatted about it later (her and I) and it turns out he had phoned her before he phoned me, although he failed to mention this. She had said she would maybe go get him but keep walking anyway.
So yeah, I'm a paranoid freak... but life is good.

Re: Paranoia
Paranoia and Premonition.
Sometimes it gets so bad I cant tell which is which.
Keep an eye on them, though. I dont quite trust people who just randomly turn off their phones..just because they're getting a lift from a pretty girl.
