Question about the pill
I know that the pill gets cancelled out when on some other medications. I am beginning to freak out because I was on an antibiotic and had sex last night. I am very light, 91 pounds, so I have a low dosage. However, I just had my period last week. Am I stressing over nothing? Or should I really be concerned? I haven't skipped a day on the pill...

Re: Question about the pill
Well, some broad spectrum antibiotics, such as ampicillin and doxycycline can reduce the effect of the Pill. If in doubt speak to your GP.

Re: Question about the pill
It's never a good idea to have sex without using birth control while you're taking antibiotics.
I was on antibiotics for ten days and I stopped taking them a week ago. I'm now waiting another four weeks until my next period is over before I put the rubbers back in the drawer.
You should be relatively safe, though, because you had sex so far away from ovulation.
Since you're on the pill, I'm going to assume that you get your period on the 22nd day of your pack's cycle. (that is if you're taking the 28 day pack) Ovulation would norally occur during days 9-15. Sperm can live inside of a woman up to seven days.
So there's your time frame. Avoid using a douche or any upward jet of water to remove/kill sperm that may still be inside of you.
If he pulled out before he came, you chances of avoiding pregnancy are increased greatly.
Whether or not he ejaculated inside of you, I recommend a healthy dousing of spermacide and you may want to consider the "morning after pill".
I sympathize with you on this. My boyfriend and I agonize about this sort of thing every month.
The main thing is to keep yourself calm and level headed. Not only will it be better for you mentally, but if your body is stressed it may throw your body even more out of whack.
Anywho, the best of luck!

Re: Question about the pill
*sighs*
Read the pamphlet that came with your pill. And of course, consult your doctor.

Re: Question about the pill
Just wait and see if you get your period. If not, then start worrying.

Re: Question about the pill
No we didn't have sex, but there is a slight possibility that pre-cum might have touched the lips of my vagina. Sorry, I consider handjobs sex, so I should have specified along with telling you it was pre-cum.

AH. This changes a lot of everything. Oh, and don't be sorry about that. What you consider sex IS sex. Sex and anything related to it is very subjective.
You have significantly less to worry about now. Take a warm bath, relax.
If you really are worried about being pregnant, then maybe some spermicidal foam would help reassure you.
