how do I let him go?
we were together, a year-together like 2 peas and a pod. just like the happy couples you see on the street attached at the hip. obnoxiously making out in public and not caring if people were watching. society hated us. we were happy .I WAS IN LOVE!
--he broke up with me suddenly and told me he never wanted to talk to me again. he says hes not angry but we are going in different directions(me wanting to stay in the south and raise a family--and him wanting to soe his oats.)
--and now instantly im pathetic and desperate and angry.
--And I hate the way i feel so i pack my shit and move to connecticut back in with an x boyfriend I was with who told me everything the other guy would not. but I dont love him. he is not my other pea. he looks dreamily in my eyes and talks of marriage and my own eyes glaze over with regret.
its like peas and bananas. they dont go together. I am a pea.
why did i do this to myself.
its been 7 months and I still miss my other pea. who didnt love me. I think about all the things we did together and I say to myself
at that moment(at the beach, or carnival, or camping, or watching the stars, or looking into my eyes while making LOVE!) at that moment how could he have not loved me??
I gave him soo much more than others. I actually cared about him and not used him or cheated on him. He treated me so well 99% of the time. I thought he was in love with me 2.
but he snowed me. and im angry.
strangely enough i dont think about the anger aspect as much.
what really kills me is when im driving my car and thinking about a moment or a conversation and I look over in the car and expect to see him beside me.
or I dream about him making love to me. and how beautiful it is and wake up next to someone i know i do not want to be with.
I guess i know how my pea felt on the inside.
I was dumped --so freaking what. I refuse to feel desperate, guilty, or angry toward him anymore. I have got to let him go. and leave the man im with now(who doesnt deserve one minute of this)
and rebuild.
but I dont know how. how do i let him go?
what if i never meet someone who gives great hugs again. what if i never meet someone who im totally sexually compatible with again?
what if i never meet someone who looks at me
the way he did. Im petrified ill never be in love like that again.
how do I move on and be strong again. How do i keep it from hurting until i am strong again.
the pain sometimes, is overwelming.

Re: how do I let him go?
It's a bitch. But if the dude really loved you, he wouldn't have left.
Perhaps he lost his head and will come back in time, perhaps not. But you can't just sit around waiting for that to happen. Believe me, I've tried it.
Sow some oats of your own. You'll feel a little bit better and if you two do get back together you won't resent him for it. Nothing makes it stop hurting, though. And stop moving in with guys.

Re: how do I let him go?
I was in a similar situation. Except we were together 7 years and she just left me for someone else.
I suppose in a way, I'm not over it. But I do realize that many of the things she did throughout our relationship were fuckin awful, and she really didn't give as much as I did. She felt it was enough for her just to be there.
Doesn't change the fact that I love her. It's only been about 2 months for me, though, so I don't really know how this will affect me from now on.
So far, I've had to move back home (ARGH) and find a new job (no luck yet), but I'm optimistic. I have a friend living in Salt Lake who wants me to come out, and my "sister" lives in Denver.. she said I might like it there. Soon I will just be picking up and leaving.
Ok, this probably isn't helping you.
Just try to forget about it. There's nothing you can really do, he feels how he feels. Don't get hung up on somebody not worth pining for.

If you were strong before, then you are still strong. I don't think that is something that changes.
Don't worry about keeping it from hurting, just don't let it take you down. The only way to do that is to tell yourself how it's going to be, then make it be that way.
Oh, btw...moving in with your ex will not create strength within you. You need to correct that situation asap.
Also, focus on what it is you want for yourself outside of a relationship. That might free up your mind a bit.

Re: how do I let him go?
What if...What if...What if...
If you concentrate on the what ifs you'll be too busy to see whats around you when it comes to finding the other pea.
Last I checked, there were more than two peas in one pod!
The reason me and my missus have so many arguments and fall outs is because I concentrate on the what ifs.
What if she's screwing about...What if she's lying...What if I don't make her as happy as before...
I see things and know there's nothing there but I just keep thinking about it and I make things worse.
Then I take it out on her, which isn't fair at all.
All I'm trying to say is forget about this guy...If he could give up someone who loves him so much so he can go out fucking then he's the real loser in this game.
Don't let the memories of him generate the what ifs in your mind for you to miss out on finding the next lucky guy to call a pea!
Good luck to ya.

Re: how do I let him go?
Move on.
I'm pretty sure everyone regrets past relationships and hurts about them. But nothing can be acheived from wasting your life moping about the fucker.
Enjoy your new boyfriend, learn to love him, if you can..
But if you cant, you should end it now, or otherwise you're going to be just as horrible and callous as your ex was to you.
Imagine this guy you're with now, thinks you love him, thinks you want to get married and settle down, and one day after lying to him for years you just say the same shit your ex said to you?
You cant let that happen. If you do that you'll deserve what you get.

Re: how do I let him go?
So, how old are you?
Oh and "you gave him so much more than others". Seeing if you see those 3 things as something special that you didn't do for others, you're a useless waste of air that deserves every bit of suffering the world can muster to throw at you
