I have been told its not bad to do it a lot, but i just dont want to turn into some freak, that cant go an hour without beating off.

You just need to be around people(friends/family...unless your into incest) more often so you won't do it as much.

I think it's normal if your about 12 to 14 but if you're like 20 or so then you need to find yourself a girlfriend or just something useful to do with your time man.
