Lately I’ve been thinking about whether I want to inflict my self upon another girl, so I’m working through my pros and cons and I hit a big one.

I know financial stability is a very desired trait in some one to settle down with, but how much does it matter in younger years (19-20)?

Like I'm going to pull out the bipolar card and claim it's why I'm so shit with money, but seriously, it couldn't be anything else.

I regularly blow entire pay cheques the day I get them. I'm VERY generous with money, when I have it. Most of the time, I don't because I spent it on USELESS shit I don't need. A while back I bought $350 worth of E. First night I went out I went to the bar and bought a round of drinks, then I put a pill in all my mate’s drinks (only the ones who drop). Then after they drank I yelled "haaa you all gonna get fucked up!". It was a fucking fantastic idea at the time, but now I just shake my head. There are countless examples of my stupidity with money.

I can't keep jobs. I think I've had 10 now. Not sure. 9 or 10. Never had one for more than three months.

Last two jobs I had paid enormously (considering my qualifications - none), and I lost them both with the same week. I quit one because I’m lazy, and the other was a pre-emptive strike before getting fired.

I pay for things I shouldn't, and don't for things I should. I don't have insurance on my car. But always managed to go out and blow large amounts of cash.

I can offer a girl endless amounts of love, loyalty and fun, but I can't promise that I'll always have money, and that’s a cunt and a half.

So how much does this matter? Would a girl ever consider being with me? Do some girls like fixing broken guys, just as many guys like fixing broken girls? Is there a way to fix this with out zombiemeds?

Answers to all the above would be appreciated.

They're impulses. If I don't follow them I feel instantly depressed. If I follow them, I'm a happy camper...for a while. Till I realise I have no money.

When I'm at my lowest, I can save money. But spending it will often make me happy. It never makes a difference any way, because the second I hit a high the money is gone in minutes.

Put it into something so you can't easily access it. I put mine into term deposits, I have 3 going as we speak - I can get them out but it's not as easy as slipping a card into a computer in the wall to get it out.

My friend even had a house built so he couldn't waste money on stuff he didn't really want or need or buying things excessively.

I don't mean you have to do things the extreme way, but just the general principle.

Also perhaps ask Money, Money, Money. The forum is a tad slow but you'll get some responses...or you might get lucky and find a similar question already posed.

I realised I didn't answer your girl related, money issue questions.

I have money and no female. Alas I say it's a non issue unless you are chasing a girl that so happens to be a gold digger.

Yes a girl would consider being with you...however going right down the extreme end - Knowing my dad thinking he is someone flashing money around, a partner might not like this, my mum doesn't. She thinks he is just showing off and making himself out to be some high roller...and she's right.

As for a meet up, I would like that, I'm considering going down there sometime late feb early march - around that time. Again I say to you, Email Me! Just so I have a means of contacting you one on one

There's a plethora of other problems that come with t3h b1p0l4rz as well. But money is the one I'm tackling right now. Also, I'm pretty sure my other thread about sleep issues is caused by the meds I take.

Just kind of sussing out whether I'm a catch or not. General consensus: no.

1. Get a job. One you like. And tell yourself you will not quit, no matter what, and everytime you think about quitting hit yourself in the face or something.

2. Go to a financial planner.

3. Talk to your therapist (I'm assuming you have one and if you don't, GET ONE NOW) about your habits.

My brother is bi-polar, he's shit with money too. I don't get it. Everyone else in my family is really good about it. He was making 2500 bucks a month, living at home, and he was broke. HOW THE HELL DOES THAT WORK? If I was making that, I'd get the hell out of my parents house, get a niiiice apartment and still have tons of money left over post-expenses. ANYWAY, no more ranting...

Girls generally HATE guys that can't manage their money. Unless of course, the guy is spending it all on them, which makes it all better. Really though, while being a rich bastard is not the issue, being a broke fuck is. Noone wants to date a bum.

Yeah I'm exactly the same way, if not worse.

I'm $15,000 in debt. Every time I open up a new line of credit, BAM gone within a few weeks. I went from completely broke to miraculously having access to $4,000 less than 2 months ago... Did I put it to good use and pay off any of my high-interest debts? No... I spent it all within a matter of weeks. Now I'm in MUCH further debt, and I keep digging myself deeper.

I've also had at least 10 different jobs so far, but I'm 22. And yeah it could be the whole Bipolar thing too. I've been diagnosed with it. I know it's one of the common symptoms. But try explaining that to someone who isn't Bipolar and they'll just call it a lack of self-discipline.

Oh, and it's whole relation to the Sex & Affection factor... I have been dumped for being broke. They don't always say it directly, but I think it might be a factor. Especially with my longest relationship, where everything was going fine, except that I became so broke that I had to borrow money from my girlfriend just so we could do anything.

Oh, and when she was breaking up with me, she also said "You're moods vary too much. One day you're all happy and excited, then the next you'll be all depressed and not care about anything".

She might as well have just said "You're dumped because you're Bipolar, pwned".

I suck with money too I always try and save at least 250 from every check but its always gone by the time i get my next one, i don't even really know where my money goes, i have no recollection of ever spending it...

I'm a rather impulsive buyer. In fact, I'm rather depressed at the moment because I got in a huge fight with my girlfriend last night, and things aren't looking good for us. This morning, I bought myself a new pair of skis. I was planning on doing so soon anyway, but money wise it was not a good idea right now.

I am doing a lot better than I used to though. I've accomplished this a few different ways. I've felt pretty proud of myself lately, now that I've managed to actually start saving money.

-Never buy anything costing more than $50 without sleeping on it first.

-Online savings account. I have mine through CapitalOne earning almost 5% interest, but I'm sure there are others. Access is only available over the net, with free transfers between the savings account and my checking account. Transfers take 3 days. That gives me 3 days to think about whether or not I really want to buy whatever it is I'm buying.

-I don't know if you have any credit card debt, but if you're anything like me you probably do. I refinanced it using www.prosper.com. (http://www.prosper.com.) I'll have it paid off in 3 years max, my goal is 18 months, and I'm paying about half the interest I would have otherwise.

As for you buying drinks and drugs for your friends, I say good for you. Being generous isn't a bad thing. If you're blowing so much money that you can't pay for essentials, then maybe its a problem. Otherwise, good for you for being a nice guy.

Hold on to your job! There's a million different unskilled jobs you can get. They pretty much all suck. Lucky for you, you're not unskilled. Everybody knows something. Are you good with computers? Good with people? You've got to be good at something. I'm good with computers and good with people. I'm paying for college with a tech support job. When you find something that actually requires you to know something, the job is much less shitty.

Finally, I'm 19, and I find that being broke isn't a big problem. Sometimes I'll have a nice wad of cash sitting in my checking account and I'll take a girl out to dinner and movies and buy her flowers and chocolate or whatever else I feel like doing. Sometimes, I can't do much more than dig around in the couch cushions to find change for a movie rental.

Girls look for financial stability in someone they want to marry. Most girls your age aren't looking to get married. They're looking for fun and loyalty and love. Any girl who won't date you because you're broke isn't a girl you want to be dating anyway.

-Quit buying drugs.

-Open a savings account, not a checking one. Savings accounts are more annoying to get money out of because the cards don't work as debit cards, so you have to drive to an ATM or bank to get money out. Earning intrest is nice, even if it's only a few percent per year. A couple hundred $ for absolutely 0 effort is wonderful.

-Get a certificate of deposit or something like that where you can put money in and earn intrest on it. I get several hundred dollars a year for no effort on my part. Lovely.

-If you can get jobs, then keep them. It's not hard. Get meds for being bipolar. If you can't manage money, here's the secret: stop buying shit you don't need. If you feel depressed, go cry, don't go buy shit.

-If you can't control your own behavior, then go get professional help.

If you smoke weed, start selling it. Maybe even grab a cell phone to make things quick quick.

If you like to eat, read the supermarket flyer on a day you have free. Figure out what will feed you for about 40 bucks, and I bet it could last weeks longer and still be awesome food than if you had bought... saaaaay... 4 pizzas?

Get 30 packs of beer instead of the occasional 24z or 40z. Bars to me are a waste of time and I barely have the option of dating because my parents are CRAZY, and Id rather just have my own place and not fuck a woman with 3 little kids and 2 lazy parents around, all fucking day. Sad huh? Ive been bad with money as well.

There are a vast amount of hookers in Thailand, and I have heard some amazing stories about that place, moneywise. Maybe saving for a trip to somewhere like this would make you more interested in saving?

Fuck the impulses. You need to replace them with things that will last. Buy things in bulk that are cheaper. Discipline yourself. In this money driven society, its too easy for one to spoil themselves to the point of madness. Its everywhere. Learn to burn videogames if you buy too many. Download music from torrents. Buy things you NEED,dont buy useless junk, it will pile up and go NOWHERE I promise you.

You know what kind of feeling I have when my fridge is stocked and Im roasting a tree trunk joint, as my paychecks steadily build up my account? It's clarity, I think to myself, this is the result of changing my habits and actions, and it never stops surprising me. There are just so many better things money can buy than all the bullshit we see everywhere.

Also, there are places that have BULK stuff (like Sam's Club) for cheap. I got 2 huge tubs of crunchy peanut butter for like 8 bucks, and I bet you anything it will last months. Same night got 75 DVD-Rs (all potential movies) for like 25 bucks!

Just make saving a priority, I hear where youre coming from, as I am trying to break away from the old habits, and realizing Im tired of being broke, poor, and I dont have to be like this anymore.



As for girls, who the fuck cares if they want money? I think if a guy has his own place, it's a HUGE plus, but to have money and pamper and spoil them all the time... you dont think that's a waste? When there are thousands of hot women in other countries who will fuck your balls off all night without question, for 20 bucks? hmmmmmmmm

And I mentioned the supermarket and it's directly related and here's why: If you are stronger, more women will like you regardless of money. To get stronger, you could eat healthier and add more protein to your diet. This way, youve saved money on food, and at the same time, have become more desirable to women, no?

Get an account without a card, just a book. SO it's a fuck off huge palavar to go to the bank to withdraw money. Make direct debits from your pay into that account so you can't spend all your pay unless you make a huuuuuge effort to withdraw it.

At least that's some money aside?
