Default Update

I's back. Seems middle son will live to see his 17 th birthday tomorrow.

Docs still don't really know what caused him to pass out etc but the working hypothesis is an extreme form of migrane.

Which I didn't think possible but ten minutes consulting the 'Font Of All Wisdom (aka google) shows that it is.

Once again thanks for all the good wishes.

Regardless of what is causing migranes? Many headaches, though they seem to be inside the skull? They are caused by tightess of neck & skull muscles.

There are many neck excercies that can bring quite some relief. Also, I don't know which long-handled, two-pronged heavy-duty electric massagers you've available in Old Blighty? I have a Homedics one.

The first few times I used it on my skull, with the softest of the three pairs of rubber button? The tightness of the muscle anchoring bumps on my head were almost scream inducing.

It's quite excellent on the whole torso too.

I guess my non-progammable one is discontinued but many companies make them. Like with anything in this machine world, there is just too much selection, too many choices.

Urgh, I hate migraines. I get them frequently, and they are quite bad (not passing out seizure bad, but I start throwing up and stuff).

And paracetamol and ibuprofen doesn't do shit to help.

Anyways, thats good news Jack.

I'm going to the doctor again next week, see what he says.

But in the mean time if I get one between know and then i'm going to try a pain reliever that has codeine in, as that might help.

Is Fiorcet available in England?

codiene CAUSES headaches, my friend.

The best cure that I have found for my chronic headaches is:

Don't eat any food that containes monosodium glutemate, nitrates or artificial sweeteners.

Go for frequent walks

And I take ambien (A sleeping pill) every night.

These measures have kept me almost migrane free for 27 days. Before I used to get migranes almost every day, so this is a VAST improvement.

Does it? On the packets it says that it can treat migraines??

But still, the best cure for migraines is simply to sleep it off. But somewhat hard to do if at school

I don't know...I took codiene when I had severe bronchitis and it gave me MASSIVE headaches.

My doctor gave me a prescription for Maxalt. It would literally stop a migraine in it's tracks, I wouldn't even get a headache after I took one.

Codeine should help for headaches, but you'll get a really bad headache if you take it too much and then stop (from the withdrawal).

And jack, it's good to hear that he's doing okay!
