Default Junkie Love

I'm not sure if this exactly belongs in the BLTC & besides I just made a post there a few minutes ago..My boy& I are both dope-heads, and people tell me that this shit is going to end our relationship [& I could def see that happening]but I love this boy with all my fucking heart, like for real. We've been together for two years, So I guess I just want to hear some successful junkie love stories..

[PS. Yes I have seen the docu dope sick love& we're not like that]

xo

pps. move this to bltc if it doesn't apply here.

I've known many people in love that are junkies. It's not an easy life, but they love it and care about each other.

There's nothing impossible about it. There are junkie couples that have been together for a long time and are quite happy.

It really depends how strongly your habit is involved in your day to day life. Does it affect your lifestyle?

How could it not affect their lifestyles?

To the OP:

It could work out between you, but I see 1 of 2 scenarios happening:

1) You two will never get off the dope because you'll be constant companion-enablers to one another

or

2) One of you will quit and the other will not be able to cope with the change

Good luck, either way. The love probably won't die, but the tolerance might if either of you ever change anything.

the biggest problem I could see with that is that it might be/become a codependent relationship.

Ya know, dope is ganga here... I'll assume you're talking about heroin though.

It has been known for regular (daily) heroin users to live normal lives. If your gear is pure, it's not actually as unhealthy as the media would have you believe.

So, I would assume you two being together would make it easier to live a normal life while on the junk, so long as if one of you decides to quit, the other follows suit.

Depends? Do you love him enough to 'give it up' to strangers, earn some decent coin & supply him with the goods?

^^^This is the definitive answer.

All depends on which drug and which people.

Would you give him your last shot?

In a relationship that involves an addiction, you'll always be the third party.

I'm sure a lot of people get on fine with that, but it doesn't sit well with my idea of love.

It comes down to this:

Who do you love more, heroin or your boyfriend? If its heroin, eventually the relationship will fail.

One of my best friends is a Ice-Head and his girlfriend is too. They got married about 3-4 months back. Other than him going to jail all the time their relationship is great as hell.
