Making the approach...
First of, Im not totally in-experianced. Its just im in-experianced with *strangers*... Normally I know the girl before I talk.
So picture the scene, Im on a train. I feel good, I feel like I look good. Im fairly confident. Just along from me is a girl, farily good looking, we make eye-contact once or twice. Now I go to make my approach...
WHAT SHOULD COME NEXT? Its different if the girl goes to one of your classes, or if you know her before. But if you don't know her at all what can you say?
In everyday situations (buses, trains, shopping... etc.) I see loads of people, and I always think "whoa, She looks pretty fine - If only I could get to talk to her...".
Now how can I change that? I mean, Its lack of confidence, but its also simply a lack of words aswell.
There must be some ice-breakers/conversation startes that you guys can think of. (Not cheesy ones though..)
Thanks =]

Re: Making the approach...
Having seen 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind' , if some psycho whore like the bitch in that film approached me on a train, I'd jump from it in a rather dramatic manner.
I dont know. Offer her a doughnut?

It is against the rules to nominate yourself.

Re: Making the approach...
Just say something that should make her laugh, if she laughs your good but if she gives you a look like what the hell is this guy talking to me for just walk off smoothly.
If you wanna give her a story do a handstand and walk away that way.

then start talking and jokes always help to.
if she doesnt answer and gives you a

Re: Making the approach...
Make eye contact and smile.
If she smiles back then you can just say hi, if you have nothing going for you.
If she doesn't smile, then depending on how confident you're feeling you could say something like Are you bored yet?

Re: Making the approach...
I think a good idea for this thread would be for people to write examples of times when they approached a stranger, what they said, and what happened.

Re: Making the approach...
I only felt compelled to approach one female in my life. She was too hot to pass up and I knew I'd regret it for awhile if I didn't.
I was working at the supermarket at the time, so I walked up to her and first asked her if she needed any help. She turned around and smiled and what struck me was how off I was about her age. From afar she looked around my age, but up close she was more like 30 with an incredible body. She said "no thanks" and quickly resumed to looking at shit, but that was just my starting off point, and for some reason her experience level didn't knock me off my game.
Then I said "No problem. Hey, what are you doing tonight?" And she looked over and said "Having dinner with my boyfriend. Besides I think I'm a little too old for you. Thanks though" And I just walked away.
I didn't feel bad about it tho, it felt like an accomplishment just to approach a knock-out like that, and it wasn't as akward as I always pictured it would be. I also think that once I saw how much older she was, I know that there was no way she'd say yes anyway, so I just asked for the hell of it, with no fear of rejection.
Anyway, I've never felt that way again, it was just a spur of the moment thing. It requires a certain mindset tho. I was just in some sort of zone that allowed me to say things in a confident, easy-going kind of way. It's all about "how" you say it, not "what" you say. So don't really sweat what to say too much OP. Tho once the ice is broken just ask her where she's going/coming from, what school she goes to. Just standard procedure stuff we all say when getting to know someone.

Re: Making the approach...
I disagree with a lot of the above, it's coming from the wrong point of view.
Being playful is good, but don't be a clown or entertainer.
Do you think she really wants to know about an "opinion" or weather, train schedule etc.?
How about you go approach that attractive girl and tell her why you did it?
I like to do this, and it's a nice feeling when you put a smile on a beautiful girl's face.
You want an example?
Well, last Saturday I was in the mall with my friend and I saw this attractive woman I liked, long black hair, soft skin, a little brown coat, black boots; very classy. She was looking at some items, and I told my friend that I like her, and I'm going to make her day. When I went in and approached I told her that exactly what I felt (no lines, no small talk, no beating around the bush)... that I wanted to meet her. She lighted up like a christmas tree... of course! We exchange names from the start, and we get to know each other. After like a 20 minute talk, I had to go, so we wrote each others numbers on our hands, hugged and left.
Simple as that.
