So she was wasted one night and started talking with one of my friends saying she doesn't know what she wants; a guy like me, or a guy like him. She says to my friend she's into both of us, but is confused.

Basically, I've known the other guy for a long time, and he's nice, but I don't know if he has any substance to him. I don't know if he has a personality, basically. Him and I are pretty much opposites, he's really into sports, I'm not; he's into all that Hollister clothing shit, I'm not; he's fairly immature, well not really, but doesn't concern himself with things that matter, from what it seems, and I do...

If you act all desperate by trying to make her pick you then you'll fail. If the girl can't make up her mind then move on and quit talking to her. It's really as simple as that.

First off, who are you to decide what "matters" and doesn't?

Second, just be yourself. If she doesn't "choose" you, then oh well, at least you still have your integrity.
