So I guess I have a good enough life on the face of it, but recently my thoughts have been getting dark and its getting me down.

I have a decent job, but whats the point? I go to work every day like a drone, earn some money, rinse and repeat. What am I supposed to be working towards? Money isn't what makes me happy, as I'm finding out.

My previously thriving social life has now condensed to a social circle of about 3 people who I get stoned with, and even they are starting to stitch me up (in favour of their girlfriends of 1 week, you cunt, wait until she fucks you over, I'm totally laughing in your face). Weed is the only constant in my life and I'm sick of it. I want to quit but as soon as I stop, I get depressed like I am now so it's so easy just to start again.

I haven't, and have never had a proper girlfriend, which was good for me while I was a pot addict, no strings and such, but now I need someone to make it worth getting up in the mornings, sounds gay but I think the whole point of life is to find someone who makes you happy. And this does NOT seem to be the way life is going for me.

The only other people I could hang around with are my old friends, and they go to the shittest clubs in town which I hate as its full of cunts. So I'm never gonna be cool with going out with them. This is why I started smoking weed in the first place.

What the fuck can I do. I'm sick of being unhappy.

Just fix things for yourself. Nothing you described is even that bad. There are a million ways to meet new people.

I know I could meet new people. I don't think meeting new people is going to take away from the fact that I don't see where my life is supposed to be going.

Oh and also, with regards to girlfriends, the only girls I ever seem to fall for are ones which I am already friends with. WHICH FUCKING SUCKS. Because we all know once you're friends, theres usually no going back

Don't waste your time getting hung up on what you think you need. All you need is yourself and the world to interact with. If you used to have such a thriving social life, why not get back into it? Surely you know plenty of people, hang out with some different ones.

Well what do you want me to do, give you an extreme makeover? You need to shake things up. Hate your job? Get a new one. Nothing's stopping you. Want to quit doing weed? Then quit. You probably get depressed when you try because your brain is so used to having it. Hate your friends? Get new ones. Diversify.

You need to stop letting life dictate what you do, and take control of what is going on.

And yea, I'm not usually this down on life, I think its mainly due to the fact that I'm trying to stop smoking weed, when you do it every day for years and suddenly stop, it fucks with your head. I will probably be fine in a week or two. Can only wait until then.

keep your head busy. Go for a walk every day or something. Do something new to keep your mind off the fact that you aren't smoking weed.

I've started going to gym every day after work to keep my mind off smoking weed. I think if I can get into the routine of that, it will ween me off my smoking habit.

And its not that I hate my job, my job is good, I'm earning $33000 a year at 18, the thing is I have no one to spend it on

How old are you and is your job your career, or just a job?

I've lived in the same place my whole life. I can't imagine living anywhere else, but I think I could do with the change. But not yet. It's quite a big area, but since I left college in the summer, my friends have been disappearing to university and stuff.

I'm 18 and work for Computer Sciences Corporation. I was really lucky to get this job at my age, and its not that hard but goood money. Only bad thing is im at least 20 years younger than everyone else :|

I think it could turn into a career, I was planning on having a year out after college then going to uni, but now I've got this job I think it would be more sensible to progress through the company, as it as a massive multinational with lots of opportunity, rather than go to uni just to get a degree

Although having said that, I think the uni experience (as in being away from home and having to make new friends) could be what I need.

IDK exactly what you should do. I do think the cessation of weed smoking is affecting you, at least in some way. You probably are just bored of doing the same thing everyday. Start doing small new things. Try a new candy bar. Hate it? Try another one. Go to new resteraunts. I love middle eastern food. Go to lots of nationality based resteraunts.

This loneliness comes as goes. Even on a somewhat daily basis. Some days I am content, happy; other days sad,lonely.

You just need to maybe try new things to add a little excitement to your life.

IDK what your job is like, but I would say based on how you talk about it, stick with it.

I hate my job. Service Clerk at Walgreens? Gimme a break. It sucks. I get paid 7.50 an hour. That's shit.

I'm sure you get paid much more than I do, and you are only 2 years older. Sounds like a good company, and that the benefits might also be worth it. A lot of people say jobs are just jobs, or get a job you really like to do, etc. Maybe I haven't come into this wisdom yet, or my life situation makes that not applicable, but I would just say, don't quit your job. At least not until every other possible avenues have been explored.

All these things are helping, I think you are right in that breaking the routine of smoking weed is affecting me big time. Im in the UK so i smoke my weed with backy in it (dont hate lol) so its like quitting nicotine and weed at the same time.

Like i said, im starting going to the gym again which I enjoy, I've recently got DJ decks as well so maybe focus more on that hobby.

And re: lonliness, i just beat off and i feel fine again

Joints are good. Thats why I started smoking, because of the tobacco needed for joints.

Enlist in the military? its fun, you have values of friendship etc, and you can lose the desire to get high

the school system is different from yours, i have higher education. i finished high school then +2 years more non-compulsory education. And like I said, I considered university but in the end, uni is only for a degree, and a degree is to get a good job. I feel like I can progress better in the position I am now than if I quit the real world for 3/4 years to go to uni.

Well, first time I tried smoking I was like 11 I think, but I smoked weed properly before I smoked properly.
