Default Falling in Love

Do girls stay in love longer than guys? How do you know you're in love? I think I am, but I'm really nervous now that because I've let myself fall for her, I could end up getting really badly hurt by it. Any words of wisdom or reassurances would be welcomed.

You say I'm naive, but you've probably had about as much pussy as a priest. Now shut the fuck up. I'm being completely serious, either give me answers or don't say shit. Sorry for all the rudeness, I'm just in a really worried mood, OK? And I'm pretty sure you're implying that just because I'm 17, I can't be in love. Wrong.

there's a reason it's called falling in love. you can't do it halfway, and analyzing it isn't going to reveal any hidden meaning. you either go for it or you get scared. sure it might end, but you know the saying..."better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."

His answer was legitimate, no need for the fucking insults. First of all, he had no idea that you where 17 - NOR did he say that you can't be in love, I have no idea where the fuck you got that from.

As for your question, you'll know when you are, coming here and asking is pointless, because, its different for everyone.

If you are doubting it, take time to think about it yourself. Analyze the situation that you're faced with, and if you really do think you're in love with this girl - talk to her, and find our her feelings. If she doesn't have any towards you, move on, you'll only be wasting time sitting and sulking and wondering what could've been.

I'm going to sleep.

I'm sixteen, and what I think and all the other people on this foroum might think don't really matter if your truly in love. Anyway your gonna get hurt and theres nothing you can do about it but grow from it.

I told you, I'm in a testy mood. For reasons I would rather keep to myself, I might add. I'm sorry. And besides that, I'm not looking for you to tell me if I'm in love or not. I'm looking for people's experiences with the subject. But I suppose you're right.

Hmmmmm... I don't want to believe that, as much as you are probably right. I'm pretty damn sure that I'm in love, but I want to see what other people experienced. To see if there are any similarities. And to make myself clear, I have gone for it completely, but I still am worried that it might not work out. And telling me it definitely won't, didn't help.

No need to take it out on people replying.

I was very confused at the beginning of my current relationship, I never have been in love before, and I had no idea what these feelings where. Everything seemed more vibrant, I wasn't as cold as I was before I met my love, she was on my mind 24/7, and still is. I denied it at first, and though, hmm, what could this be classified as? I just went ahead and called it love, because it was amazing... something that can't really be explained in text...

As I said, talk to her.

Stupid...Totse...keeping..me..up

Thank you. Yeah, that's basically what I've done. But I really wasn't sure if it was love, but I suppose if it's different for everyone, then it's basically how you describe it to yourself and nobody else would understand it. I can't put what I feel into words either.

And I know what you mean about Totse keeping you up. I have to leave for work in 2 hours and I haven't slept all night. ^c^

Over time and thinking about it, i can only cone to one conclusion and that is that there is no amazing, wonderful, cure all-love which people seem to speak about.

In the end, its just that you like someone more than most other people and/or you have been with them so long it would feel weird not to have them there any more.

If you stop looking for this, almost, poet-like version of love then you will probably realise you find the real thing more than you have known before.

Through actually experiencing it, you're wrong. If you're truly in love, you can feel it in every part of yourself when you're with them. It's so much more than just liking them more than other people. And if you're really experiencing it, you know, you don't have to wonder. It's like seeing some magical new colour; once you've seen it, you know what it is, but it's impossible to explain to someone else, and impossible for anyone who's not seen it to properly understand.

EDIT: UBB.

I thought Nameless Dude gave some very wise and reassuring bodied help, but you were arrogant (sp?) and stupid enough to dismiss that with petty insults.

You're an idiot. Attention whoring, idiot.

If you're worried that you're going to perhaps get hurt by this relationship I doubt its love. You're being selfish, you're only considering yourself and your own feelings, love is selfless. In conclusion, I believe you're an angsty teenage bitch. If you're not sure, then it probably isn't.

I agree with Mindless Xyzzyean about the selfish and selfless stuff. OP sucks, in a "you poor thing, you'll learn" sort of way. PS - let go of your fear and enjoy yourself, you'll soon be sure if you put your heart in it.

In my experience relationship paranoia is good. Now combine that with fearlessness.

If you love someone you open your whole heart and world to them. Being scared of being hurt in my opinion is both bad and good.

If you truly love someone never lie to them, never cheat, in other words never do anything you wouldn't want them to know about.

If they love you back they'll do the same, if not it was never meant to be.

Hmmmm. I guess it shows you sure as hell don't want to lose them, but the opposite of paranoia is security and trust, and if you trust them completely, you won't even have any problem with them doing things like sleeping in another guy's bed. Paranoia is something that causes problems in a lot of relationship, I personally think it's best to avoid it (although pretty much impossible, msot people have at least some by nature).

Default Re: Falling in Love

well love is a complicated feeling i may say but you just have to look inside yourself to what love means to you. see when you fall in love you always get excited when you see the person, you always feel this indescribably feeling that just warms your body.

when i feel in love with my boy friend i didn't want to be anywhere but in his arms. i didn't want to to go home or leave his side because he made me feel like i was cared about and loved back in return.(know some of you may be like " oh shes just clingy" but im really not its just always hard to say good-bye to someone you love) i find that you want to experience everything together and only with that person. that just knowing that the person your with loves you makes you want to keep returning to love.

but if you want to talk on a more psychological level there are to kind of love passionate love which is what every one feel the first couple months of a relationship. then there is companionate love the kind of love that happens when people grow with each other.

know about your questions you asked, girls can stay longer in love depending on their background, there are a fair amount of girls that are like guys that only want sex due to what ever reasons. the second question i explained above. and could you get hurt of course you could but so could everyone else. love is like a risk something you have to go for its like rolling dice cause you never know what your going to end up with. you just got to go for it take a chance and hope that it works.

first i have a question how long have you been with this girls?

now my advice is if you have been with this girl for a month of more and she shows enormous amounts of affection to you then just tell her that you love her, girl's usually wait for guys to say the "i love you" cause girls dont want to scare away their man. and just hope for the best that she loves you back. the only thing that could go wrong(besides her not feeling the same) is holding back you feelings.

good luck man hope for the best

Ok you want experiences, here was mine. Dated this girl for 2 years. Was completely in love with the girl from the moment we met. I spent 3 months getting to know her before asking her out, just to make sure it wasn't lust instead of love. Found out it was love. After about 1.5 years, we became engaged. Around the 2 year mark, she ripped my heart from my chest, showed it to me, threw it on the ground, picked it back up, said sorry, pretended to give it back to me, then threw it on the ground again, and ran off with some new guy. I've been on a drinking binge since then (about 7.5 weeks now).

Thats what I experienced of love. Enjoy.
