Attn: Females
Some of you may be familiar with the TV show firefly or the movie Serenity. Both fantastic, recommend them to anyone. Anyway, one of the main character is played by an actress named Jewel Staite. What is not common knowledge is that she was forced to gain about 20 pounds before they would let her play the role.
Moral: It's not all about how much you weigh. Look at these pics and judge for yourself.

That'd make sense if she looked good fat which she is not. Those 20 pounds just made her look healthy, like uh, a real woman? Not a pile of bones

Um, would you rather every model looked like the 300lb vomit-fest Velvet D'amour? Models are typically thin for a reason.
Few models are anorexic, people need to stop throwing that judgement around.
She doesn't look much different, just more rat like when she was thin. Totally doesn't look like 20lbs though=/

She looked better with a litte weight on her. She looked like an actual person. Girls are supposed to have a few soft and squishy places.

Re: Attn: Females
I was thinking about that today. They talk about it in the Firefly special features. I think she's beautiful, and admire Joss Whedons choice in doing that. He wanted her to look like a real woman, one who enjoys life to its fullest.

Re: Attn: Females
Honestly, models do rarely anything for me. They have the bodies of 12 y/o boys. What happened to the Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, curvaceous models? Now that was some shit I could jack off to.

Thats because models are supposed to look like 12 year old boys. I heard that since mostly gay men run the industry and small boys are the most pleasing to them they get models that have characristics of little boys. I don't know if that true but it sound about right.

Yeah but point still is, women shouldn't get hung up about the number on the scales.

Garett, how old are you and where do you live? I am always getting you confused with Stab. There's no logical reason why, I just am.
Kthxbye.

Re: Attn: Females
In Italy they've made it illegal for models to be below a certain weight:height ratio. Damn good idea.

Re: Attn: Females
It's a good idea, if you dont' get into the specifics.
Height/weight ratios are ugly things to standardize with people, because of the way bodily proportions vary. At least with models, you aren't going to get much variation in height. A few inches in either direction of normal can throw that sort of calculation to hell.
