where to meet geeky girls?
ever since i was about 14 ive always had a thing for geeky girls (something about a chick in glasses turns me on) but i have no idea where to find them. i have no problem with normal girls but the geeky ones are hard to find. a friend suggested net cafe's but i cant picture myself trying to start a conversation in one.. the scenario in my head always feels awkward, so.. where the hell should i start looking?

Libraries are nice, and BIG lan parties are good, too...
But really, the best place is... GASP! On the internet.

lan parties are good but the only ones that ever happen around here are realy small scale 10-15 people at most
EDIT: but since the first two replies both say big lan parties what does an average joe with a out of date computer have to do to find these huge lans?

Depends. By my own logic, most girls going to libraries around this time of year are doing so because of school, not because they want to.
Summer would be a different story however...
Also, seems like at big LANs almost every halfway decent looking girl would be getting hit on by every guy there.

since libraries and net cafes were going to be my first choices, i would have to say the other one will be at scoail gatherings for geeky type hobbies. you know:
magic the gathering tournaments
chess clubs
book clubs
programming classes.
those are good because you actually sit down and discuss things with strangers, rather than just barging into someones lan party or library study session

No one that needs to take a class on programming is hot. I've thought about the libary to pick up weemin folk myself, but my books are over three years overdue for returning, so I try to avoid it. >_>

Just walk into an honors class in an institution that reflects your age. Probably high school, but college works too if you're a little older.

Why are glasses geeky?
I dont wear glasses, yet am geeky. I've seen many women who wear glasses who are probably so fucking lame they dont even know what LAN means or what MTG is.

It's a pity I never got heavily into MTG, I did enjoy it.. but so much money, time, and effort goes into deckbuilding etc..
Then my cards go out of date, and new ones are released! I can't keep up. I never saw many girls at all at Magic gatherings.
Your best bet is on the internet, on a nerdy forum.

It's probably a good thing. I play MTG at games nights and tournaments occaisionally, and when there are more than two females,,,oh god..the hostility! The competitiveness!
There's nothing saying you have to keep your cards constantly up to date. Sure it's fun to buy new cards, but ?depending if you're playing type 2 or not? old cards shouldnt be forbidden

Games Workshop FTW!
Oh and D&D nights, never over look them.
It depends what kind of geek you're after, you don't necessarily want one that calls herself, "Li'ong Tarrk, of Klingon blood".
But you might be after an academic girl.

Chess club.
Chemistry/math quiz teams & clubs.
Isn't it some what important that you get on and have common interests? not that you have to hunt a girl down in some strange environment and preten you don't do drugs?

I'm geeky. I hang out at school. And on the internet. And drinking heavily while playing pool/darts at skeezy pubs. I don't look geeky though. Appearances can be deceiving. Ooh, and coffee shops. People who go to coffee shops to do homework, ultra geeky.

To Attract Geeky Girls (That Aren't Morons):
Step 1: Find a room with many girls in it.
Step 2: Pretend to be Edward James Olmos. Mention something about "getting [your] men" and "rolling the hard six." Use the word "Frak" often.
Step 3: Mate with any female that gravitates towards you.

my ideal geeky girl is really just a gamer/computer geek, i played d&d a little in highschool and that was pretty fun so ill toss that into the mix as well. its the whole geeky girl look that i like though, all freckled and pale with glasses, short (5'0 - 5'7) and skinny (i have weird taste in women huh?) most of my friends are geeks and alot of its rubbed off on me so im pretty much one myself so really all im looking for is a girl who i can hold a conversation with without anything going over her head, shared interest ect...
so far my best bet looks like going to/throwing a giant lan, a friend of mine has a small one every couple of months so i guess well just have to throw a big one for some special occasion and invite everyone we know, spread the word and everything and hope to god some decent girls show up. or just go with my friends suggestion and hop from one net cafe to the next until we find one.
edit: i see no point in hiding my casual drug use as you probly wouldent feel the need to hide your casual drinking (aimed at Isobutane)
another edit: a manga / anime loving chick would be awsome and now that i think of it there are normaly allot of geeky cosplayer chicks at my local anime shop. *whooshes out the door*

SciFi/Fantasy conventions. Those things aren't just a good place to meet girls, it's a geekcenteric pickup joint.
Allow me to illustrate with pics from the last one I was at.

If you find the right kind, they'll be intrigued by it but not want to partake.
My current girlfriend is one of the geekiest girls I've ever met, but she has no problem being around me when I'm on stuff, and has agreed to sit for me when I try new substances.
Some of the geekier girls I've hit on have been violently opposed to drinking/smoking/general psychoactives, and most people in general are iffy about acid. Don't make a big deal out of it, and you should be fine though.
Then again, I've had an easier time convincing my girlfriend to hang out with me while I'm high than getting her to play DnD with me.

If you want to play with your old cards, try Extended or Legacy. Those are, IMO, better formats because of the bigger card pool. But don't play Vintage...that shit is expensive.

Re: where to meet geeky girls?
I use to go to this lan last year until it shut down, there was at least 5-10 girls every friday and saturday. Though most of the were not hott, but most werent bad either. you need to find a local lan center and check it out at peak times. But you just gotta find the right one, I spent two hours at this hott girls house teaching her how to play call of duty 3.
