i think you're right, and i believe the cutest thing you can do for a girl is to find out what she wants or likes, and give it to her, a way no one else can. but lets just see if there are other ideas .

something thoughtful. maybe make a book showing all the things you like about the person. Include pictures of the places you've been together, etc...

that could work you know, but what i would do is do something, but intentionally make a mistake in it.

example: hand make a bracelet with lettering beads, then write something like:

" <3 <3I love you very mcuh. <3 <3" or

"you are the sunshint in my day"

that way, she would actually appreciate your effort of making something for her (although it turned out wrong) and the error would make it more personal and human.

then she would be proud to brag about you to her friends, and it makes it more memorable

I love it when I wake up and my man would be right there giving me his stupid smile. Or he would try and be romantic when we would make love. He would go out and buy smelly good candles and light them. Or while I was at school (he's graduated already) he would leave me roses in the office.
