yes girls are like that. Its called mind games, they all play them with males while trying to outcompete other females. Fuck me its annoying. Whereas with men we are honest nice guys who if a girl is going out with a guy we have enough decency to label her as off limits, unless we hate the guy in question

YEah, I think that this phenomenon has become a fact of life really. Can't really explain it, but women comes in droves, and then all the sudden you hit a dry spot.

A lot of comedians have commented on this throughout the ages. I actually just saw one a few hours ago between classes who claimed to remedy this he was going to invent a cologne for single guys that made it smell as though you had spooned with somebody in the past week.

In actuality I think it's simply a matter of confidence. I know that's thrown around as reason for a lot of the interesting relationships between men and women, but it's applicable. When you're with someone you no longer have to look; when you aren't looking, the possibility of trying too hard isn't there (desperation is a repugnant aroma); behaving more naturally you stand out amongst a sea of guys trying to hump their legs so now you're worth their time.

On the other side, very often the only time this observation is made (being single and nobody cares) is when you're newly single. So even if you're trying to play it cool you're awkward. You've gotten accustomed to company; you've gotten used to not having to impress to win your lady fair; you may be lonely; damnit, you just want to get laid.

Lazy, lonely, and horny are not swoon-worthy characteristics.

Things do balance out we just only take notice when things are unbalanced.

Yes... I'm always in this situation. It's a rare occorunce when one girl likes me, but when one likes me i find out about 4 other girls liking me. And i've got one chance with each It sucks.

I hate that. I find it happening more if i like one girl and it gets out, then that girl will walk the line between liking me and not, while another two or three will develop a certain interest in me. I run into problems when i try to decide which one to go for and which ones to fall back upon. It just seems that when i focus all attention on one, she falls back and the others step their game up, until i switch and then it reverses. So basically unless the stars align/give me alcohol ridden parties, my hookup zones are slim

Okay, I have a few theories on this:

Theory one, If it happens with femals you're already friends with: She always saw you in a friendly way. But now that some girl has a romantic interest in you, she may be second guessing her own judgement and thinking there's more to you.

Theory two, If it happens to females you're just making friends with: she thinks "Thank god, he has a girlfriend, so this guy wont be trying to get into my bearded clam 24/7, I can let my guard down". She'll be happier, and innocently flirtier, she'll think you just see it as friendly flirting, but you wont. Because you're a guy you'll think "Fuck me, she wants me cock".

Theory three, if it happens with random girls you meet: You're more confident. You give off an aura of 'taken'. A lot of females, just like males, enjoy the chase. If you're not even giving them the time of day, they try harder for your attention.

Theory three happens to me a lot at clubs. That, or I'm just naive and they want my cock fullstop. But I'm pretty sure it's because I come off as taken.

I've done the whole "play hard to get" bit. I don't think it ever worked. I think I've found my niche, and that is: being a nice, cute, friendly guy. I'm not too bad looking either.

I've always hated the games girls played. I've broken up with a few gf or potential ones because of it.

So, my plan now is to just, be me. Sometimes it is hard, and I try to impress, but those are the girls I really don't even know anyways, and probably won't talk to again. The ones I REALLY like, I put my charm into, and most of the time I don't have to put in much effort, because when I like a girl, I just act more charming, nice, etc anyways.

I am having this exact problem now, the thing is I try and go for all of them at once and tend to come out empty handed since I use up my charm to quick or I hold back because I think I might still have a chance with another one.
