My gf and I really love each other, but we can't do anything because her mother is very protective. She would not let her go to homecoming with a guy just cause he was going to pick her up and drive her. She was also threatening to call the cops on her brothers friend who she snuck out with along with her brother.

Now I am older than her by a year. That means her mother isn't going to be very tolerant of me. What can I do to gain her trust? I was thinking about sending a formal letter to her in the mail, giving her a background of who I am and what I'm like just so she can't make an assumption off my age.

Any ideas, please?

My sister had a boyfriend who did this. He sent a bunch of stuff about his marks at school and his job and alllll kinds of things.

My parents aren't like that, and we all had a good laugh, but I think they liked it anyways.

You just gotta show that her daughter has complete trust in you and if her and her daughter have a good enough relationship then her mom will see that she is truly happy with you. Spend time with her around her mom at her house and don't do anything stupid or be touchy feely around her mom. Be a gentleman ya know.

A letter in the mail? Are you fucking crazy? Meet her mom in person and make a goddamn good impression. Doesn't matter if you blindfold her daughter and fuck her with a saudering iron while she's chained to the bed. In front of her mom, you are a christian. Once her mom "knows" she can trust you, you're golden. I'm assuming you're a junior and she's a sophomore? She needs to start setting her mom straight. Or just do everything under the radar.

yeah...i have this EXACT same problem, but instead of one of my GFs parents being overprotective...its fucking both. (heres a nice lil' story)

Before i was spose to meet my GFs parents...i snuck her out to do a little bit a drinking...(shes a freshman and i'm a 10th'er) she got pretty hammered and i ended up carrying her home. anyway a bout a week later the word got back to her mom somehow (fucking freshman friends) and i was FORCED to meet her parents

Now to let some of you know, her dad is a 6 foot 6in Ex- Navy seal with a drinking problem, while her mom is AMAZINGLY overprotective and still refers to her as "Her little Princess"

This little meeting was not pleasent trust me, their eyes burned through my cuban skull like A knife into a pillow...not good...anyway....Actually...i think i'll make a Thread about this...

Be a gentleman best advice there to her mum and to her ask for permission yourself when you want to take her out somewhere eventuall youll gain a little trust

Perfect gentleman and what not, good manners. If you go over for dinner at her place bring along a dessert of some kind and offer to help with the dishes. Like silverballs said, ask her parents when you guys want to go somewhere, give them your cell phone number if they need to get in contact with you at any time, and if a curfew is set then follow it.

If her parents have already decided they don't like you, there is very little chance that any amount of sucking up will change their mind.

Talk to her and let her see who you are and what you're about.

If you're not just some horny idiot interested solely in fucking her daughter, she'll see that.

My mother in law was the same...Thought I was nowhere near good enough for her daughter because of where I'm from but once she met me a few times and talked to me, she realised I'm not that bad.

when i got with my gf, i was 18, and she was 15. her parents are very protective. the first time we hung out, she came over to watch a movie. literally nothing happened. we watched a movie, and talked after. then her mom came to get her. she was then grounded for a month because my parents werent home. that was a year ago.

now her parents like me (especially her mom). just hang out with her with her parents a bit to start, so they can see your a good person. like go to dinner with her and her family. watch movies at her house. that kind of stuff. they'll start to trust you, and then you can take her out and stuff.
