Pro's and con's of dating a younger girl...
I'm 19, the girl in question is 17 as of a week ago... Normally I end up involved with older girls. My most recent ex is 24 and doing her masters.
Anyway, the 17 year old is cute, into similar music etc and she plays playstation games. I figure that's a good start.
On the other hand she'll be unable to get into bars etc for a year...
Anyway, any thoughts for me?
P.S. this is Australia so it's legal.

Awww Bless...someone believes you actually have to be 18 to get into a bar?
It is refreshing to see there are still some clean cut law abiding kids out there...who'd never resort to naughty tricks like using fake ID...

I think you have to be using a cane before you can legally get into a bar in the US

Re: Pro's and con's of dating a younger girl...
You just got to find the right bar. I'm only 16 and there is a bar I can go to to drink. The guy knows I'm underage and still lets me drink there.
And if she looks older and she's with an older person (you) they most likely won't ask for id because they would assume you are the same age.
But a night club is a different story. Don't even try unless you know the owners or people who are on the door.
P.S I live in QLD. (Queensland, Australia for those who don't know).

Re: Pro's and con's of dating a younger girl...
17 and 19? That's hardly an age difference to be concerned about. If you like going out, get her a fake ID. Well no, not a fake ID, a real one but someone else's. Find a friend who looks similar and just pay for them to get a new license and your girlie can have the old one.
When I got together with my ex, I was 16 and he was 19 and loved to go out. We were in Scotland though, so having ID was hardly ever an issue because they wanted girls in the clubs, it didn't matter if they were underage. But in Canada we got kicked out of so many bars, lol. I'm not sure what the ID situation is like in Australia.

Apparently they're actually really tight on ID.
Well, they are whenever I'm there. (My boyfriends Scottish, lol, all I get it "I can't take you to a bar! They'd ask for ID, won't even let you in if you're a day under 18" grrr)

Re: Pro's and con's of dating a younger girl...
Yes, the ID situation is quite tight over here. Fat chance of getting into a night club with her.
On topic however, personally, the youngest I'd do at your age is 2 years below me and that fits the criterea.
Enjoy.

Sad but true; a younger girl who feels that she's snagged herself an older guy will try harder to keep him.
Downside is potential clingyness.
However if she's fairly mature it really shouldn't be an issue. Especially as the age difference is well within the normal range.

I'm 16 and in 10th grade. I got dumped by a 14 year old in 9th grade because she wasn't ready for a relationship. I say go with her. She's not that young. Plus, she'll do a lot to keep you happy.

some bars will let you in if your underage if its a "lounge" but wont let her buy the drinks so just buy them for her.
and its not that big of an age difference.

Re: Pro's and con's of dating a younger girl...
I read this thread and was about to reply differently until I saw who posted it. Dude, you shouldn't care, my girl is 17 and you know that, and I've been waiting over a year until she turns 18, for everyone who doesn't know me in real life, which is everyone apart from kyoki, i met my girl the day before I turned 18, and she was 16, now she's 17 and I'm 19. Luckily though, she'll be 18 in about a month. But yeah, it sucks to wait, and you know I've gotten fucked for my fake ID, so I wouldn't get her one if I were you, just as I didn't get mine one for the same reason.

You do make a good point man. Hopefully I'll be down south visiting soon. With luck I'll have some good news.

I doubt it's tight then.
Round here, they ID people for lottery tickets. The "r u 21" scheme and "No ID no sale" that most places are with means they basically have to do it or they get in major shit, and if you look under 21, then it's ID time.
This would be an issue for me, being 16, boyfriend being 18 & very much the drinking sort, but everyone he knows is a lot older and he seems to just know everyone and everywhere somehow?
Find someone you know who could look vaguely like her, get a really shitty ID photo of them that could pass for your girl, have them send off for another ID and voila! IDs are £9 here, so yeah, try it?

If you 2 just wanna go drinking then either drink at home or go to a pub and buy all the drinks. Otherwise, invite some of your friends and her friends and have a small party or some shit, if it's dancing and socialising you guys want.

As long as shes not immature and infatuated with you due to the fact your older than her, those dont lead to good relationships, only ones involving lots of sex (another kind of good ). So basically
I say no
People like Gus would say yes...

Just a tip: Dont ever use someone elses ID, you will get in fucking shit if the police catch you. And dont ever buy a fake id with someone elses information on it.
I knew a guy who got caught with a fake id, it had someone elses info on it and he got a really harsh sentence in court, cant remember exactly what it was but it was really harsh..

Re: Pro's and con's of dating a younger girl...
In Texas they card anyone for buying alcohol or cigs if you look under 27. Even in all the Corner stores they have stickers outside saying "We card anyone looking under 27", on the door, counter, etc. I used to work at the local pharmacy and ran register and had a kid working as an undercover officer come try to buy cigs and I denied him and was told later by my manager that an officer had come by and told him there would be kids in to try and buy cigs for some kinda checkup on stores. In short, US fucking blows. I can't wait to migrate north even more.
I live in Seattle now and I can walk into pretty much any bar I want without getting carded.(I'm 19 but look 25) But there are still a few places where I get carded.
I'd say take long route and just wait till she can get in. Fake IDs are no joke. Not sure if it's a Felony but I think it is.

I've been going to bars since I was 14.... admitedly I live in England... and a bit of a backwards part of England at that (Devon)
But if I ever had trouble getting in I'd use a fake ID and the few times where they picked up on it and said they knew it was fake they never once threatened to call the police or anything ridiculous like that.
