Birth Control with teenagers.
So I am in high school and me and my boyfriend need to go to planned parenthood and I am planning to go on the pill.
I've tried checking the pp website about what needs to happen before they precribe it and the fee, but I didn't get too much information.
I do not want my parents to know, which is a big part of this, because they are very confused with me and sexual activity because of me not prosecuting a rapist.
Can they just give me a months worth and then I go back to pp when I need more? Or like do they have to talk to my doctor?
Oh and we do use condoms, except that like with younger people condoms only work like 80 percent of the time.
Anyone have any past experience with this?

Re: Birth Control with teenagers.
PPh is completely confidential. Your parents do not have to know; they don't go through your insurance plan.

Re: Birth Control with teenagers.
the clinic i go to gives it to you for free if you say you're not covered by medical insurance and you don't have a job or any other way to pay for it. i don't know where you live but there's a lot of places like that in canada. plus any medical facility is confidential and they're especially careful with this with adolescents because there are so many iffy situations. if you're worried just make sure your first question is "is this completely confidential?" and on the offchance that their answer isn't yes, just leave. you can't really lose.

Re: Birth Control with teenagers.
At planned parenthood, your parents do not have to know, it is your choice. They(pp) will give you paperwork to fill out, and just put down that you do not have any insurance; in which case, if you really don't want your parents to know, they can't if you don't use your insurance(if you have it and just don't want to deal with it). Then they will discuss all birth control options with you, make you sign a sheet saying you know any dangers, the effectiveness, etc. Then your pretty much set. They'll give you a Happy bag . Said bag has a 3 month trial of your birth control, with muchos condoms. Thats about it...

just go to any PP [try to get your bf to go with you] and tell the receptionist exactally what you need. you'll have to fill out a few forms, but you can request that your parents don't find out about it. if you decide to do that, then when you fill out the part about how much you make a year, just put how much YOU personally make, most likely [since your a teen] you'll quallify for a card that not only gets you birthcontrol, but it can get you free condoms, free STD testing, and all the other female speciffic things that you would go to a doctor for [all free.]

Re: Birth Control with teenagers.
They gave me three months free and told me to come back when I need more.
Just do what everybody else said, tell them you don't have insurance or a consistant source of money.
