Default I don't dream that often, but when I do, it's always about my ex.

We broke up damn near 2 years ago, and I didn't see her or talk to her until last August, when I came back to my old town.

I thought about the girl almost every day, and the first time I saw her I was crushed to find out she had a new boyfriend. All of my friends had told me that she had done some slutty things in the time that I was gone, but I really didn't care whether she did or not, she was still the same girl to me.

We've talked a little since I came back, but I only see her in school, and I don't have any classes with her. She invited me to a party she was having, I couldn't go because I was on house arrest at the time, but I didn't tell her about that, so she might have thought that I just blew her off.

She broke up with the boyfriend she had right when I came back, and about a week later I notice that she has another dude. Her new boyfriend is a guy that has liked her since before me and her dated, and even tried to compete with me for her back then, but she stayed with me. He's finally got what he wants now.

It's a pain to see them every day with each other, but I try my best to ignore it. Luckily they hang out in a different section of the school than I do, and I rarely see them together. Right before everyone got out on Winter Break though, as I was heading for the bus ramps, I saw them, kissing, I mean really kissing, and I can't get the image out of my head.

Like I said above though, every single one of my dreams involves her, and in each dream we get back together, or something similar. I wish I could stay in these dreams forever, because I'm more happier then than I am at any time that I'm awake. I think about her every day, and even when I'm with another girl I can't get her off my mind.

When we were dating before, I think we were together for about 7 months, but I care about her now more than I did when we were dating. I'd do anything for the girl. I don't know if I should try and get her back, if I should wait for her to break up with her boyfriend now, or make a move now and hope things go my way.

I've changed in the time that we were apart. Not trying to sound arrogant or anything, but I know I'm more attractive now than I was before. My whole personality has changed, for the better, I carry myself better, I know how to dress myself without looking like a complete moron, etc, etc. I just don't know whether or not to try and get her back. She's the same pretty girl that she was before. My point is if she liked me before, isn't there a chance that she might be interested in me now that I'm better than the guy I was before?

I think I should at least make an attempt once she's broken up with her boyfriend(which will happen, it's inevitable with the guy she's with), and if she says that there isn't a chance, then I'll know to finally give up. But what do you guys think?

(Sorry for making it such a long read, I only intented to make about 2-3 paragraphs, but the more I thought the more I typed.)

Hung up on an ex girlfriend... it's time to find out if it's ever gonna happen, or leave it be.

I used to have dreams about killing this guy I know. They lasted about 8 or 9 months. I would use different things, and in different circumstances, but I would always kill him. Eventually they stopped, so I assume yours will stop too. (Nb. I didn't kill him to get them to stop, so I assume yours will stop without you getting back with your ex)

If you don't get back with your ex, sooner or later you WILL find a girl that'll replace her in your thoughts. It's inevitable. It's easy to think "oh, there's only one for me" but as the saying goes - and however muchyou may doubt it / have doubted etc it's still very much true - there's plenty more fish in the sea.

Now whether you have another try with your ex is up to you, but don't blind yourself to better options around you who you might have otherwise ignored in your unhealthy obsession with your ex.
