Default Drama

Why does it seem that so many people seem to enjoy starting or participating in drama with others? This has nothing to do with male and female, it seems like so many people love conflict and shun compromise.

Sure, nobody says that they really love fighting, but they don't avoid it or do anything to stop it. It's just so trivial.

I think I have a new philosophy on how to stop it: if you start drama with me, then the guns/knives come out. That would put an end to all petty arguments.

Aye, I don't understand either. I guess those peoples lives are so...empty, they want to fill it up with a bunch of stupid shit - like other people problems.

Exactly.

Also it seems like when there is drama it's just usually one or two people who are bored with their social lives so they go and start shit to make it more interesting and eventually having the situation end up different than it was.

I think a lot of people use it as a bonding ritual.

You start drama with someone . . . and you lose one friend . . . but everyone on 'your side' becomes closer to you.

Sometimes the only thing whole groups of friends have in common is a mutual hatred for another group.

Pathetic, but mutual hatred for one thing or another is often easier to find that mutual admiration/appreciation.

Look at us all, sitting around, hating those that start drama.

People are petty. They'll get hung up on a little thing, then pride gets involved and everything escalates.

We're glorified monkeys.

I don't know about drama as a bonding ritual, but I did notice that almost everyone I start out fighting with becomes a really good friend of mine. I think it's because I hate conflict and always try to compromise, and they're maybe secretly relieved or something...

I think drama is all about attention. People create dramas when they're feeing neglected or whatever.

I know a couple who both have incredible appetites for drama.

It's almost like they feed off the drama each other creates. It's as though they were made for each other, in some twisted way.

I personally find it quite distressing.

There ought to be more couples like them, so that all the dramatic nutters are caught up in each other and bother the rest of us less.

I find that people always try and do that mutual hatred thing with me. That whole 'The enemy of my friend is my enemy too' bollocks. At the end of the day it's all negative. Blah, blah. Hearing about that person, and how pathetic they are, on and on, just ends up making everyone feel shitty.

All the drama that I have seen and been through have been started with a chick. I don't know why, but I guess it's that they like to get attention or cause hell.

Negativity is all most people know how to do.

Sad, eh?

I admit hands down that I am a negative, egotistical bitch.

I thought I hated drama. I thought I loved all of my friends and nothing would change that. Now, I thrive off the fact that I've made my once best friend lose contact with his best friend of 15 years, not to mention many others. And it doesn't hurt that my ex was a wreck for a few days over the same situation. It felt good to hurt others, 'cuz they hurt me--that's what drama is about. Sometimes you need it to keep you from wallowing in self pity and getting nowhere. Oh, you still get nowhere (and perhaps regress) but you feel better about it--you feel vindicated.
