Yes I know you both have email BUT I'm posting this publicly to save on 'this doesn't belong here' comments down the line.

I would be happy if you two could 'blog' some of your experiences during your separation. With supposed maturity, many here will probably find themselves separated due to college/army/prison and i feel you two might be able to highlight some of the issues worthy of discussion.

I know that'll probably royally piss Gus off but until such time as the Great Zok lowers the dread mantel of modship onto Gus's shoulders I get to choose what is ok and what isn't.

(assuming the senior mods here have no objections, of course!)

That would require my being rather open about things. I'll give it consideration and wait to see what lauren thinks of it.

No,Gustave would make an awfull mod for S&A, but he'd be awesome in some other forums.

The Euda/lauren thing is adorable, but it makes me feel a bit queesy when people simper over each other online.

Perhaps that's jealousy, I dont know. But if I ever fell superduper hardcore in love with someone I hope people would slap me silly if I started to oozed about it too much.

Wasn't Gus a mod a looong time ago? Like, back in the age of Snoopy. I need to brush up on this stuff. It doesn't matter anyways, as long as we have this old version of UBB, Gus can basically drop the boards off the face of the earth. I like Gus's rants anyways, they're usually more coherent, humorous and downright awesome. You can see the influence of many of the &T greats in them.

Anyways, Lauren and Euda, that'd be cool if you guys did document this. I might be gone for a good while out of the country over the summer in both Japan and South America, touring with 2 ensembles I play with.

BTW, recorded phone sex would be hawt.

Calm down Peoples, my quip about gus and modship, was just that...a weak attempt at humour.

Should the need every arise for a new mod (something I can't envisage at the moment!) then I would hope that Zok would allow us to 'elect' him or her , the way I was.

At the very least I'd want to have thread for nominations that we, the mods, could pass onto Zok along with our own.

My husband has to go away for 6 weeks soon. He has MORE training he has to do because of his promotion. Hopefully this will be the last separation for a long, long time, but somehow I don't think so. *sigh*

Mine, too, though I don't know for how long yet.

We haven't been apart the entire 5 years we've been married, and frankly, I am welcoming the time alone. It's nice to miss your significant other every now and again, to renew your appreciation of them. Being together constantly tends to breed apathy and taking each other for granted.

I don't know...My husband works long hours so we're apart a lot anyway. I'm always sad when he's gone...But we're really close. A lot of married people seem to be more okay with spending time apart, but it hurts us a lot.

To see a message board used as a blog irritates me as well, especially because in the past, posters who did this (such as Infrared) were publicly insulted and berated for blogging on the forums. Now-a-days, mods are requesting it?

More importantly, does anyone but Jack care about how Euda and lauren feel, now that they're apart? No offense to them, they're very strong people and I doubt they'll break down to the depths of depression, but would the blog be anything more than, "I thought about Euda 27 times today." ?

To each their own, I don't mod S&A (and probably for good reason).

I don't want to be a mod you stupid Brit, haha, I just want you moderators to follow your own rules, and enforce those rules that are already enacted. Sorry, though, if you seem to have such troubles understanding such a VERY SIMPLE ideal. In the mean time, while you try and learn some manners and perhaps some moderating skills, how about you stop mentioning me in every post you make? It's rather annoying because I already get far more attention then I want from you freaks.

Oh, and I couldn't care less about you ASKING them to blog about it, but I truly don't feel that they should be hosting in S&A or even on totse. This isn't a blogsite, it's a web forum. Hell, you could easily set up an external blog, and give them access rights, and ask them kindly to use that. In reality, it'll get about the same use as there blog thread will get: Not a whole lot.

I think that, in this case, a lot of people would like to hear about it. Lauren has been a regular here for a looong time, and everyone knows Euda. It's like you're interested in stories friends tell you, but wouldn't be interested in the same stories from strangers. I'm interested in hearing about it myself (although I've talked to them both over MSN about it anyway ^^).

EDIT: I do think that they should get to choose if they share it or not. From what I've heard, neither of them seem too keen to share it on a public forum in any great detail.

I think maybe some of you saw the word 'blogging' and straight away the red mist descended.

Or maybe I didn't express myself clearly enough, although I am sure Leuda understood what I meant.

Of course long emo 'my heart aches for her' rants aren't wanted.

Nor , to be frank, am I overly concerned about Leuda's feelings.

What I think however might enrich this forum is a discussion of the various situations/problems/pleasures they encounter during their seperation....above and beyond the fact that Leuda isn't gonna get laid for months on end.

Maybe it's just a shortcoming of my own: I don't find my friends' relationships entertaining in the least bit. Perhaps it's because I've been through it. I don't mean any disrespect to Euda (He's a great guy) or lauren (though I've not spoken to her much), but I'm trying to bring to light how inappropriate I think it is for a forum atmosphere.

Basically, you're giving long-term members the right to post otherwise offtopic threads in S&A. No other forum allows for this luxury, as there's no reason for it.

I don't think that 'blogging' would be acceptable in any other forum (sure as hell not mine!), but when it comes down to it, it's just a website and if no one else cares then what does it matter?
