Dear Totse,

Well, I was having fun today with my girlfriend when the fucking condom broke and

unfortunately I only noticed after ejaculating inside her... However, (Following Jackketch's advice) I already knew where to get an ECP ("Morning After Pill") and we quickly went to the pharmacy to get her the tablets. She took them according to the instructions but we are unsure about when we can be absolutely sure that I did not get her pregnant.

Help me out here - are we supposed to wait until her usual time of the month? Or can we wait a couple of days and try a pregnancy test?

I have been told that since she took the pill straight away there is little to worry about but there is always that "oh shit" factor...

It is the first time this happened and I really want to tell you guys, DO NOT keep condoms in a pocket (even if it is a jacket pocket) for more than 3 days - no matter what else you hear it is not worth taking the risk.

What the fuck is the point of a pregnancy test a couple days after fucking? Not sure how accurate they are, or how early they can tell, but that seems pretty early.

Just wait 9 months and if a kid pops out, the pills didn't fucking work.

Wait a couple weeks and have her test for pregnancy. It takes a little while to know. Either wait for her period, or test in a couple weeks, whichever you prefer. Think about getting her on the pill so you won't have to worry about these kind of mishaps in the future.

First of all, I really think you're overreacting. There are really only 3 days out of every month that a woman is ovulating. Unless you have no luck other than bad luck, I doubt you've gotten her preggers.

Second, it sounds like you took all the necessary precautions. The morning after pill doesn't work if the woman is already pregnant, which would be difficult to accomplish in your case, considering it can take up to 24 hours to fertilize an egg and you didn't wait that long to get the pill.

Last, buy a pregnancy test and wait a week before using it. Then you'll know for sure.

Overall, it sounds like you did all the right things, which is more than can be said of most.

This could have been prevented if she went on depo provera. 1 shot every 3 months, works really well. Except when you get off of it, it might cause infertility. It really varies from person to person.

Ovulating IS NOT the only time a girl can get pregnant. That is when you have the best chance of getting pregnant. The ratio of days you can't get a girl pregnant to when you can are more like 5:25 depending on how long a girls period is.

You should be fine, don't worry about it and you'll soon foget and she will be fine. Btw How much did they cost and how many did you get?

You can pretty much get pregnant any time of the month, there are just a few days when you're more likely to.

You should be fine. Wait until like five days before her period, then take the test.

It's supposed to be a small margin of time in which you can get pregnant, actually. But if you take into account that the body's clock is easily sways and fluctuates, it's understandable. Plus sperm can hang around for a good while.. biding their time.

If you followed the condom maker's instruction: Don't panic and wash the pussy with warm soap and water, as well as gave her the morning after pill, you should be fine.

Also about every condom package I've ever read. Maybe it isn't for the pregnancy, but it is a measure that they all reccomend.

Hey everyone, thanks for the support and reassurance. According to you, I did everything necessary (even the warm water) but if something went wrong I guess one of you will receive baby mail in the next year!

Anyways, I was extremely surprised at how easily I got them, I had always heard it was a real hassle to get them and that they were quite expensive but here in Estonia I just went to the pharmacy, and got them for 7€ (about $9 US) they came in a small pack with two and voila...

I keep condoms in my pockets sometimes, and they're fine providing I put them on correctly. As for the morning after pill, if you take that within 24 hours then the chances of a pregnancy are dramatically low. Last time a condom broke on me, my girlfriend was late and we were both worried but she did get the period in the end. wait a couple of months.

Depo isn't for everyone. My biggest issue with Depo is that once you have the shot, if there are any adverse reactions, you're stuck with the results for 3 months.

Some women go absolutely batshit crazy from Depo. Screwing with your hormones is not the answer to all of life's problems.

I will clarify my original statement, as it seems to have been too vague.

The days out of every month a woman is MOST fertile (and therefore likely to get pregnant) is between the 11th and 15th day prior to ovulation, since it generally occurs on the 14th day. This will vary depending on the woman, because not all menstrual cycles strictly follow this pattern.

However, a woman CANNOT get pregnant at ANY time, as some posters have asserted. The eggs must be available for fertilization either in the fallopian tubes (which you DON'T WANT !!), or in utero. The eggs are only accessible during periods of ovulation, otherwise they are housed in the ovaries.

Sperm can live up to 72 hours, but that is unlikely. Generally, the best swimmers last up to 48 hours.

As for the "warm water" method mentioned by another poster, this will not work unless done immediately, and even then...

Once the sperm have passed the cervix, warm water isn't going to help one bit.

The area of concern is that not all women's cycles are uniform. There are plenty of factors that can alter the menstrual cycle and it's duration, to include diet, stress, or physical activity.

For instance, when I went to boot camp, I didn't have a period the entire time. That's 2.5 months ! This was true of almost every woman there. The extreme increase in stress and physical activity altered hormone production.

Oh yeah, that morning after pill is probably going to fuck up her cycle so dont fret if its late.

Idk what they got in estonia, but if it's RU-486, you got no prob cuz that forces a period, leaving zero chance of implantation of the zygote...especially if you really did it the morning after...

I was pretty sure the morning after pill left basically a 0% chance.

Wrong... ovulating is the best time to get pregnant.. but a female can become pregnant at any time of the month.. at any time in her cycle.. because.. you just never fucking know.

It CAN happen.. but the CHANCES of it happening.. are much slimmer.. But standing on slimmer as a hope is not the best of ideas..

RU-486 is an abortion method. It aborts the fertilized egg/embryo/fetus.

Plan B does not. It only works (by modifying hormones) if the woman is NOT YET pregnant.

well see the morning after pill is like a strong dose of hormones and can make her feel kind of not her self. but since you did get her to take it right away the chances of her getting pregger's is still a chance depending on her cycle. but its like 90% effective. and no you can't take a test till that time of the month cause that what the instructions on the test will tell you. but anyways hope that this help a little and sorry if someone already said this. i just kind of posted without reading anyone else's post

OP, you got her the morning after pill. Unless the universe seriously SERIOUSLY hates you, you're not getting babies. Just chill out, have her take a pregnancy test in a few weeks just to be sure, but it's really improbable that she's pregnant. To avoid future mishaps though, get her on the pill.

you're fine...I've used them 3 times and they are very "accurate" and preventing implantation as long as she followed the directions and received the pill within the recommended time frame after the sex.

Phew! Everything is alright! She got her period and now all we have to do is celebrate (although carefully )
