as for me? I smoke, i'm awkward, i'm bad in school, I'm chubby,I got shabby clothes, a junkey car, I'm just all around midiocre.

Maybe she chose you cause she thought you were a badass or a rebel or something. Either way you gotta treat her better than any guy has treated her and at the same time not be excessively clingy. You gotta roll with the punches find out what she wants in the relationship.

Obviously there's something about you that turns her on.

Don't try and figure out what it is! Because:

1) If you let yourself adopt that mentality, what you're really doing is giving in to self doubt. This is counterproductive! It cannot end with anything positive.

2) If you start to rationally objectify the things about you that she likes, let's say you did figure it out, what has it achieved? Two things. One, you'll have solved a mystery. And two, you'll now be self-conscious about the very things that she likes about you. If this happens, those qualities will cease to be spontaneous and genuine (if you doubt yourself, see #1), and you might end up destroying the very reason why she likes you in the first place. Is that worth the satisfaction of solving a pointless mystery?

You want to keep her? You're going to have to train your mind to work differently. This is in fact easier than you'd think, it just takes dedication. So depends how much you want to keep her.

It's very simple: the best way to change your mentality is to pretend you're already the way you want to be. In the beginning you'll feel silly, many people just give up because it seems pointless. But this works - the longer you keep pretending you are the way you want to be, the easier it gets to pretend. Imagine little "scenes" about how she might have acted, and you might have acted.

Do that for a few days and you'll start to get an idea of the kind of person you COULD have become if life had been different. The only reason you AREN'T that person is purely down to fortune and bad choices you made, nothing more. Therefore you contain within you the potential to be that person, it's obvious when you think about it.

So try pretending you actually are that version of you. You're NOT trying to pretend you're someone else, you're trying to pretend you're the best possible version of yourself. The imagined scenarios from a fictional past are just stage props to help you adjust mentally.

This shit works. I recommend giving it a try if you really care about her.

People rarely have a problem that is so fundamentally engrained in their mind that it can't be changed through willpower and intelligent methods. That's the fucking truth.

Don't forget that it's all about not doubting yourself, it's not about believing positive things. Trying to make yourself really believe things about yourself that you don't honestly accept, it's nearly impossible in the long term. But making yourself stop believing negative things, is much easier and more effective.
