I prefer sleeping alone. I have enough trouble sleeping as it is without someone else disturbing me.

My last girlfriend had night terrors.

Teddy Bears. After spending nights cuddling and falling asleep with my boyfriend, it's difficult to fall asleep alone. So I've resorted to teddy bears. Childish maybe, but it works.

idk the placement of your bed, but i usually sleep against the wall if i have to sleep alone. it gives the sense of someone besides you. but sometimes its cold

other than that, a pillow to hug and a call to your lovely lauren before you go to sleep?

Time...

I hated leaving my girlfriend and sleeping on my own again, or after a sudden break-up.

Get stoned before you go to bed... that always helped me.

Reaching over in the middle of the night and realising theres no-one there will happen for a while, but after a while you'll adjust.

Body pillows (especially if you get your lovely lover to cuddle and hold it with you before she leaves) always make sleeping alone better.

I actually envy you that you get to see your girlfriend so soon again. I don't get to see mine until june.

I've never really found sleeping alone a problem. Guess I'm so used to it

Fall asleep with the phone to your ear. Used to work for me.

Although as she is now some 6 hours ahead of you it probably would be difficult

It takes time to adjust but just when you lay in bed just remember that you have a girlfriend that loves you and she willl be back, it's not like she'll be gone forever. I envy you, you're luckky enough to have a girlfriend to be around.

Go camping alone for 3 days and sleep out in the woods with rocks as a pillow and pine needles as a blanket. You'll sleep great once you get back home.

There's actually a thing; not sure what it is, but it feels like flexing a muscle, feels like pulling your cerebellum into your spine, that makes you more asleep.

Get ridiculously wasted, then walk around your house until you pass out. You won't even know.

But that's not an option every night for ten weeks. Put on some really chill music, snuggle with a pillow, and ease yourself into sleep. Try not to lay there thinking too hard about her, because that makes it harder.

But just think about how much better it'll be when she's back.

That was actually one of the hardest things after Tommy and I broke up. I sletp on the couch for a month cause i didn't want to sleep in the same bed that we did together. But now its better cause we sleep in the same bed agian...

Fucked up situation :/

Just remember that in ten weeks you all will be back together. I'd say keep yourself up until you know you're going to fall asleep as soon as you hit the bed, but that might get hard on your body.

Were having the same proablem.

I live in florida, and shes in california for a few weeks. Theres no real way to get use to it, i try falling asleep with the phone in my ear. And sleeping pills help ALOT because you have no choice but to sleep after you take them. If you have a dog have it sleep at the foot of the bed. Sometimes just something else living in the room can make you feel less alone. And rember she IS coming back. So just stick it out.

Well, body pillows are almost as big as people, and they don't move, talk, or punch you during a wild dream.

Anyway, it's something to hold on to until she gets back. At least you have a "she" coming back to you. Take comfort in that thought.

All well and good but it does mean I now can't fart in bed

Euda , I feel your pain but I'm sure your digestive tract is sound.

I got it. It's comfortable and green. I got the most sleep so far last night. Four hours.

It just isn't Lauren, but it obviously helps.

Why'd she move back ?

Mine can't move back into the bed until we get a bigger bed. And by bigger, I mean two Kings strapped together with velcro tape. He is prone to karate chopping me in the face or yelling when he's sleeping.

One night, he jumped on top of me and dug his fingers into my arms so hard I had bruises. He said he was having a dream that I was falling off a cliff...

I asked her why she had without a direct command from me. Her reply was that the only proper place for a christian wife to sleep is next to her husband and to thus do his (sexual) bidding. And that she wanted this with her whole heart!.

Yep, thats me too. Most of my partners have complained about waking up either covered in bruises or unconscious!

Hmm...more kidding ?

Before my husband, I dated several men who were the same way. I wonder if any studies have been done to indicate why men are more prone to violent sleep than women are.

Pray tell, how does one wake up "unconscious" ?

Digi, No no joke and no kidding...for once! My wife is really that old school christian...very much in the pietistic German evangelical tradition.

Although she is far more liberal than some of her family...ie she doesn't consider that watching TV per se is a sin.

The pair of you, find out what each other's favourite animals are/most remind the other one of you (in teddy form) then go buy one that has a compartment inside for a hot water bottle and post it to the other one.

If you can't sleep for thoughts of your beloved (sorry for being prancy) heat up some water, fill up your furry one and pretend it's them. If it's warm enough as it is then go open the window, then just snuggle it all the tighter and think of your precious (no creepy voices though).

I don't do this, as I see my girlfriend every day at school, but you might like it.

Buy her a teddy bear, and spray it with a bit of your cologne that she'd recognize, and include the bottle...

Same for lauren, just with perfume.

Trust me, having a recognizable scent with you as you fall asleep is definitely as helpful as having a body shaped thing next to you.

Also, you could get a dead body and keep warm water running through it?
