Default I looked, and now I wish I hadn't.

My philosophy has always been that people need their space and privacy, even online. I figured, even if it is a public thing, there is no reason to go looking at it. Well, I just went against that.

Here is the story.

I was feeling particularly lonely. As you all know, my ex just dumped me recently citing 'needing space' as the reason. She said she still wanted to be friends, etc. I tried emailing her, to which she wouldn't really email back.

Anyway.. tonight I was feeling it, and I just wanted to see her. So I checked her myspace. Here's a little back story.. when we were still together, she had recently put it to private and wrote "DJ > You" as her little subtitle. I didn't really think anything of it, because I had no idea who any DJ was. Turns out "DJ" is some kid (20 years old) she met via World of Warcraft. Uh.. yeah. While I was there, apparently they started chatting each other up like dirty freaks. The real reason she left me, in fact, was to be with him.

Why does this bother me so much? Well, other than the fact that I saw the girl I wanted to marry say she wants to be licked all over by some ugly kid and fucked by him.. it was that she lied. She could've just told me "I found someone else." It would've been a lot easier on me. Instead, I've been sitting here for over a month wondering WHY and feeling some hope for the future.

It disgusts me, but what can I do? Nothing, really. Just get over it. Get over her.

I wish I hadn't looked at her myspace, though. Seriously, I did NOT need to see that shit.

Ugh, someone slap me.

You had it right when you said that you had to get over her. You could think of it this way, if she's content having some pug faced, WoW cretin inside of her, does she really deserve you?

Of course this will do little to make you feel all warm and fluffy inside again. Be sad, be angry, go to bed, wake up and do it again until the little bastard inside your chest shuts up.

Sucks. Are you sure that's why she dumped you? Maybe she's just on the rebound. And hey, girls can be like guys sometimes - completely lewd and driven by physical desire. This guy could just be a meaningless cyberfuck.

Of course, what's really important is that she isn't yours anymore. You're a new man - a man who exists without her. She's just a girl you had a thing with. You're a free agent, so act like one.

I don't think it is a rebound, because I remember her playing for HOURS and HOURS like the night before I went home and she wouldn't fucking get off. She just kept chatting to this kid all the time. I thought it was meaningless, but apparently not.

What the fuck. I'd like to punch her, to be honest.

God damn. I don't think I'm ready for any kind of relationships with women yet. This sort of thing would probably send me over the edge, and some people would end up seriously hurt or dead.

You think he's ugly now?

Wait until I carve his facial skin off with a glass shard Hannibal-style.

But seriously, he's an ugly WoW playing kid and he managed to steal your girlfriend? Sounds like you must have been wonderful to begin with...

She told me that she loved me but wasn't "in love" with me anymore when she dumped me. It was 7 years, and she said she thought we may have grown apart.

I guess that's sort of true, considering I grew up and she didn't. I guess that also sort of explains the fact that she is dating someone 20 years old that looks 15.

I really did treat her great, though. Not to toot my own horn, but I am a nice guy to people I want to be with. Am I much to look at? I don't know. I think I'm pretty good looking. Not only that, but I am fun and funny as well.

Oh well, her loss.

Thanks for the comments, though, guys. I really appreciate it.

As you said, it's her loss. If she breaks up with you after 7 years for somebody she's met over the internet, then she was never worth having.

If it doesn't work out for her, be prepared for her to come begging back to you.

Apparently (and i don't think I am giving away priviliged information here) despite all her 'I'm fat' banter, Yoyo is an extremely good dancer.

Thats if you consider the semi epilectal fits modern kids perform at clubs as 'dancing' ...

Yoyo, she is indeed insecure and probably lonely, but she does it to herself. As a side note, she is not fat and is extremely hot.

Really, I'm certain that this fellow was merely her safety guy. The guy that she always knew she could go back to after she cheated on him, and the guy that'd always be there to hold her and say it's all better now.

Everygirl tries to have one, so don't let yourself be one. Otherwise when she finally gets bored of you and wants a new one, you'll be crushed.

That's what cages were invented for.

Back on topic..

If you wanted some sweet bitter revenge you'd fuck each and every one of her friends, male and female alike.

THEN, you hack her warcraft account (or simply access it, if you know the password),

and you dont do anything to her friends or anything silly like try to immitate her, but you sell the most valuable rare items she has in her inventory. And then you spend all her gold that she's spent her sad little months collecting to buy that oh so special rare item.

If she's as hooked as you say, the acts you perform will be devastating to her. Trust me on this .

Oh yeah,tell her she's fat/ugly/whatever, then fuck her brother/sister.

Also works well.

One good thing in all this is that you're not hiding at home crying, and that you're actually going out and having a good time. This is good.

dude(I am guessing you are male), she obviosly hurt you, and you are no doubt trying to figure out what is wrong with you, that she doesnt want you anymore.

stop it.

it may be partly because of you, hell it may be completely because of you, that she fell for DJ, but the truth is, whether you are to blame or no, she isnt right for you, and you arent right for her.

that should be apperent, because you arnt together right now. dont try to reconsile things, that will just make it harder, and bring more hurt.

you have to stay out there, your young, yes?

well then dont get all broken up because your girl left you.

when your sixty, and your wife of 20 years leaves you, then cry, but untill then, you have to accept the fact that this girl doesnt want you anymore.

I hate to be a dick about it, but from reading into her actions, I would say thats the way things are.

take it to heart though, that she is dating over the internet, and those never fucking work.

with the exception of a few totse members, that is.

Yikes, so many replies!

I'll try to just give a general response.

I'm not sad about not having her anymore, it's just the way that she lied about it. Makes me feel like I don't know people I thought I did. She sent me this really awful email after I said it was a foul thing to lie about saying how I am bad in bed and I am a nag (or something to that effect). It's kind of funny, because she was the one always nagging me about not going out with friends or whatever. Sounds like she made her own bed and now she can lie in it.

As far as the checking of her myspace.. I generally wouldn't do it. And believe me, I never will again. The reason I did it was because I had talked to her brother and he said she was happy but she had been talking to 'some dork' from WoW. Then I checked and it all went downhill from there. On one hand, it burned me that my ex was saying really perverted and fucked up things to some other guy, but on the other hand, I was really disappointed in her. I guess I kind of lost a lot of respect for her, you could say.

So yeah.. this isn't so much about the breakup anymore, it's the devaluation of her character (not her WoW character).

I don't want any revenge or anything like that, I just want it to be overwith. This is a good start to that. Honestly, I had held some hope that we would end up together again, but I don't want that anymore.

As a side note, she tried to trash on me for going 'bar-hopping.' First, I don't drink (she knows this) and second, bar-hopping generally requires going to multiple bars in a single night, no? I go to one bar on one night (not every night, mind you). It's just kind of funny that someone who is now obsessed with WoW is trying to trash on me for going out.

What's funnier is that her and her new e-boyfriend are probably going back and forth:

/lol

/snicker

/giggle

Playing games for a hobby is fun. Willingly spending $40 a month on a fee to play a PC game you already BOUGHT, rescheduling work for "raids", and blowing off your freinds to play with WoW freinds is just stupid.

Dunno, maybe your girlfriend was after someone with a hectic night life? :\

To OP: Meh, I wouldn't get vengeful over the whole thing, it just goes to show what we can all be like sometimes - insane. My advice would be the archetypal 'do something else until you're over it'...boning her friends sounds like a great start though...off you go!

Create a WoW account (I like paladins), level that suckekr to 60, get your gear and pwn her boyfriend at WoW, she will think you are the video pimp and come crawling back.

LAWLSEALOFCOMMANDCRITS aren't going to impress anybody. Roll a hunter or lock for pvp easy-mode.

Oh, I see. Punching bitches is far better than requiring a guy to have clean hands before he touches me.

You fail at life.

malaria, I hope your heartache ends soon, and that you realize you're better off without her. I loathe liars and cowards.

The truth hurts, but lies hurt ever so much more, because trust is involved.

Ummm, last I checked WoW was between $12-15 bucks a month, and those costs are used to maintain servers, content updates, bug fixes, etc. The $50 for the actual game is just for the core programming.

I don't play WoW and never have, but I just don't like people bad mouthing MMOs in general.

Stuff like the OP's story are how I acquired my hatred of LiveJournal. Even after I gave up on it (yes, I did once have one) because it was just crap, I'd go back and see some horrible, horrible insight that I wished I'd never read, and that somehow made my life more miserable.

Fuck social networking. Fuck them all.

I guess you have to ask yourself, would you rather have had it end this way? Through flirting on World of Warcraft. Or would you rather have been married to her, came home one night and found her in bed with the neighbor.

But work through it, btw read/thinking about the 5 stages of grief always got me through shit.

Good luck to you

Of course this will do little to make you feel all warm and fluffy inside again. Be sad, be angry, go to bed, wake up and do it again until the little bastard inside your chest shuts up.

I didn't read any more posts when I saw your name...I haven't seen you post in awhile dude, where were you?

What happened to all those totseans who used to phish peoples MySpace p/w 's? They should make an official MySpace revenge service. It must be great therapy, just completely annihilating a hated one's beloved MySpace.

Nope, it's done. Not going to tell her myspace or anything. It's a shitty deal, but it's overwith now.

Thanks for the offers, though.

Seven fucking years and she's seduced over fucking WORLD OF WARCRAFT? I can't even begin to describe my confusion... and I don't even know either one of you. It must be ten thousand times worse for you. Seven years and WoW. Fuck, that's made me as paranoid as shit. If someone - someone who's been yours for SEVEN YEARS - can be stolen away through chatting on an MMORPG... Jesus. It's not comprehensible.

...this probably isn't helping you. Sorry. I just can't get over it. Well, at least you're not wasting any more time with her. You're nice, funny, good-looking... there are lots of fish in the sea.

Just because it lasted seven years doesn't mean it didn't go to shit at the end of those 7 years.

This had nothing to do with WoW. You weren't satisfying her and she found someone who could. It's that simple. It could've been AIM, it could've been some guy on the street. She wasn't attracted to you anymore, so she cheated.
