I think it's disgusting how people take ethical cues from a book written a long fucking time ago. Especially ones that deal with your own private life, like issues such as homosexuality. Homosexuality doesn't hurt anyone, so people have no business trying to "cure" it. Also the government has no right to discriminate against it in terms of marriage and related benefits. Laws like that are spawned from blind following of religion or personal whims-- neither of which should contribute to the laws that govern a whole country.

There is pretty good evidence of a gay gene, but there is also a lot of social phenomenon that lead to homosexuality. Now imagine we still had very limited cognitive abilities and were still pretty much animals. Every heterosexual male a woman produces competes directly with her other heterosexual male offspring for reproductive rights. This leads to added stress and conflict, which lowers the chance of sucessful reproduction. Homosexual offspring will not compete with the heterosexual offspring to reproduce, but will still help maintain the society and the reproducing individual, thus increasing the chance the reproductive male of the "brothers" will reproduce. That make any sense?
