Ok. About 6 months ago I was informed that I slept with my ex's bestfriend. Now at first I figured that it was her friends starting trouble, as I obviously had no recollection of it.

Later on her best friend went on to explain in vivid details the encounter on our affair.

Even still I didn't believe it. I would remember sleeping with her, wouldn't I?

Then one day it all came to me. I remember driving to her house in my shitty '88 royale, the 40 ounce I drank on the way, the red school shirt she wore, and her landing strip cut perfectly over her olive skin mound.

Another incident occured when a good friend of mine was talking about a girl I made out with. Again I had no recollection of this.

Then I remember a girl asking to sit on my lap several weeks later then my memory cuts out.

Are these missing pieces of time telling me something is wrong with my relationships ?

Did my alter ego purposely do this because my ex was in the way of his progress?

any help greatly appreciated.

yeah...we aren't the people you should be asking. an actual psychologist is needed here.

Sounds like he has the balls(or whatever you'd call it) to go out and do this stuff, but then feels guilty about it, or pissed at himself, or some sort of negative emotion so much that he just blacks out and forgets the whole thing. i'm not exactly sure if that's your standard diagnosis for repression, but it's the only way i'd see it to be likely.

then again, i'm not a psychologist, and i'd bet that neither is the rest of totse. so like the rest of totse, i'm going to suggest that the op sees someone with a licence. (but i'd put money down that the diagnosis is gonna have the word repression somewhere in it.)
