So we all know the whole tradition... Examples from TV shows like that one Friends episode I think it was, or my favorite movie about it; 200 Cigarettes.

I've actually never cared much for traditions/rituals, especially trivial ones such as this, but I am starting to worry about being lonely on this defining moment. Especially since I know that the party I'm going to is going to be mainly couples, including my ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend (Whom I both hate deeply, by the way).

Luckily my friend is bringing his girlfriends' sister and friend, both of whom are moderately attractive. Still though, no guarantees...

And yeah i'm going to a party new years eve. a uni party an hour away were an old friend goes to. And i'm not really thinking about hooking up with anyone, i came out of a 4 year relationship a few months ago and have been with 2 girls since then neither of which meant much so whatever happens.

Don't go in expecting shit or you'll get disappointed. Just see where it goes and have a great night.

I have no need to be anxious, I know I won't have anyone to kiss on new years, which is all of thirteen hours away.

Wow, you guys aim too high. Around here we only do the New Year's kiss, and that is just tradition, not sexual. It's just nice to start off your year with a good kiss. If you don't have a girl, doesn't matter, grab one that's near by and kiss her, odds are she wants to kiss at midnight just as bad as you do.

At which point we will open a bottle of Champagne(as we can't get decent 'sekt').

We shall toast and wish each other a happy and prosperous New Year.

Then sipping champus watch whatever crap is on TV.

I hit it off with this European chick (Canadian, but born in some European country.. can't remember which...)

We exchanged numbers too and she was supposed to even sleep over at my house... but my roommate fucked up by flipping out on his girlfriend for hitting on other guys (she even told me she had a secret thing for me... WTF?)

So I guess I don't blame him for how he reacted...

Either way, it creeped her out because he reacted so violently, which obviously fucked up my chances with her friend (the chick I made out with...)
