i'm in love....but what will happen?
i had no idea this could happen to me. i was so depressed before. now i am blissful, cheery, hysterically happy. constant laughter and joy. nothing really bothers me with him around. he's here 24/7 and i'm not sick of him. i can even laugh with him about stuff that would embarass the least squeamish of people...we have so much fun.
but on jan 3rd we part. me to germany, him to his home country. we will certainly see each other again, but when? and how will these coming months go?
i know that we will be fine. i'm just worried about if i will survive the wait. i've never been in love and definitely never done a long distance thing. it's kind of scary, because i don't know what to expect. if you've ever been through this please post your experiences.
aside from that, i'm so happy and just wanted to share.

Re: i'm in love....but what will happen?
You love each other so I'm sure things will be just fine. You'll write, you'll phone, and see each other whenever you can manage it.
I have no advice to give you, but I wish you two the best.
Edit:
Well, maybe I do...
Be kind and patient with each other.
Be attentive to each others needs and how that relates to being a couple apart.
Don't let being apart interfere with what it is that you're doing. Stay focused on your purpose for being there.
Think about the life you might want to create with each other and share that dream with each other as often as you can. (Don't be afraid of making plans together and stay optimistic.)

You'll miss each other like crazy, You'll use more phone credit then you've ever thought possible, You'll feel sick because you want to see them, You'll count down the seconds till you can see them again, You'll see them again, and You'll be fine.
At least, thats how it worked for me. Hopefully it worked out that way for you as well.

What to expect? Moments caught between planes and trains that are so precious and whose memory will warm you a life time.
Anguish, heartache , tears. Massive highs and torment of hell lows.
In short pretty much the same as dating someone next door, just more so and with added 'bugger' factor (that's 'bugger' as in stress not as in anal intercourse).
Invest in decent webcams and high end computers.Look for the best value cell phone deal going.(google 'cheap cell phone calls to ***.There are some amazing deals out there.

I know Euda, and I know he's nothing like the type. I know Lauren, and I know she's not the kind of girl anybody would want to cheat on. I know how much they love each other, and neither of them would want anything with anybody else. So shut the hell up.
I'm really happy for you both. It really couldn't happen to better people. If it's real, true love, it can survive any distance. Look at jack and oc (and listen to them, they wrote the book on long-distance love ). Hell, I'm in love over a long distance, I see her about every two months. It's working perfectly (6 days until I next see her ). So you can do it, it won't cause any problems you can't overcome.
Yay for you!

Ahh, I remember that. Great 'book'
From before the days jack was a mod, too strange times.
Hopefully it'll make Leuda feel a bit more confident about embarking into the unknown, though?

happy for you you seem to have found a soulmate. I thought i did so once too. Kinda inconvient that it was at that time my gf's best friend. Bout the longdistance, my only experience is that it goes horribly wrong on in a short period of time. But then again....i'm too easy

It is best to take advice from someone who actually made it work.

Re: i'm in love....but what will happen?
WELL I know this is somewhat different, but my husband and I had to do the long distance thing for 5 months back when we had only been married for a year and a half. It was tough...He wasn't able to call me that much, so we mainly just wrote letters. I missed him so much, but we got through it.
The best advice I can give you is: Try not to fight over dumb stuff. When you're apart, even a tiny fight can magnify and become something much worse. Also write actual mail to each other versus e-mail. There's something so romantic about an actual letter that HE touched that's in HIS handwriting. I still have every letter my husband has ever written me.

Re: i'm in love....but what will happen?
first I have to say congrads Lauren and Euda for falling in love. If you both love each other you will probably try and make it work. If you were supposed to be together it will happen. Good luck and I hope you two stay together.

Lauren, you are a very lucky lady, and Euda is a very lucky little boy!
You are both amazing people and I really don't think it will be a problem for you. Just enjoy the excitement of when you're together and wait patiently between those times.

Re: i'm in love....but what will happen?
Such a concept!
There are still days before any leave-taking must take place; I haven't considered it and will not do so until necessary.
It's almost enough to boggle my mind. Almost.

Oh, by the way, be prepared for it to be incredibly, incredibly painful when you do part, if you know you won't see each other again for a while. It's part of the package.

Re: i'm in love....but what will happen?
Yea...yea...I've heard it once, twice, thrice? How many times has this been said before and how many times has it turned out true?
Don't have your foot in your mouth later by putting yourself out there to be hurt. Have a good time, spend time together, but please don't make assumptions about a relationship that you are unsure will last.
Love? I'll quote Euda. "Such a concept!"

Re: i'm in love....but what will happen?
I feel like writing more.
I think the most important thing is to make a definite plan of living in the same area, and stick to it.
Me personally, I like to know where my girlfriend is, what she's doing, so I can sort of imagine her life...err..hard to explain. Just so I feel more a part of it? So I guess it may help if you guys share pointless details of what you're doing. Also helps with that inevitable long distance paranoia.
That's about all I can offer. Wish you guys all the best.

Re: i'm in love....but what will happen?
Hhmm, can't really give you an advice, I'm not the kind of person that loves other people, nor do I believe in the concept...
But, if you do, and it makes you feel happy or comeplete or whatever you call it, I'm sure the feelings you two have for each other, is more than enough to make it work out just fine, despit geographical location...
And as you point out, you'll certainly see each other again...
Someone once told me, that I shouldn't worry...
There's no point in worrying about things you can't change anways, and the things you can, why worry about them?
I guess what I'm trying to say is, "don't worry..."

He's right too.
I like this bump. yoyo gets two thumbs up.
She has been in Germany for weeks and I am still completely in love. I miss her and look forward, greatly, to the time that we will be together again.
Happily, I get to return to work from my broken foot on Monday. This will give me something to busy myself;school and general enjoyment never offer enough of a distraction, so maybe some exherting labour will manage it.
I'm currently debating a visit to Germany and working towards the future; the visit to Germany depends on how quickly my passport comes through, I may have to wait to see her until after Germany. I try to talk to her every day in one manner or another; I'm trying to keep her as a presence in my life, without being obtrusive.
I can't believe that Christmas was a month ago. March will be here in no time.
