Try to find a job right away and start climbing the corporate ladder, or I could join the military.

Try to get the best job you can, and try to gain some intellectual marketable skill through education, as rule of thumb these tend to pay more (but not always the case).

And don't join the military, there's a war now and there'll be more on the way.

clearly only time will tell what will be best for you. i believe that the military is evil, although clearly necessary (i seriously suck as spelling that word). with two young children i just don't think it is worth the risk of join a service that can very easily put you in danger.

if you can get a nice desk job with good money that's one thing, but see what each side is offering before you make any choices.



right now you should just focus on you classes and family. no matter what getting good grades will be very helpful and your family is your number one priority.

Seriously, with 2 kids you should REALLY give it some thought. And as far as being deployed to Iraq...My husband's specialty is ARABIC and he has never been sent there. Air force people aren't nearly as likely to be sent as the other service members.

Think about doing just one enlistment while you get your shit together. It could really benefit your family...And the military will pay for your college.

Um, anyway, Zek I think your issues are slightly more complex than your carreer path in two years. You do strike me as a nice guy, but you also strike me as somewhat of an escapist, fairly hysterical and maybe a bit unstable at times? Then again, none of us are perfect, and i'd be very suprised if most of TOTSE doesn't have some of those issues, and more, shit I know I do on some level...

Then again, you're different in that you're an 18 year old with two kids. You need to set them as a priority, and work on your relationship with them. They need a father there as they grow up more than they need a corporate whore buying them pleanty of new toys, imo.

If anti-depressants were changing your world, I don't think you'd have made half the number of posts that you've made on TOTSE. In terms of anxiety, and inner-confidence, only you can address these problems, and really, I don't really know what will work best. I wouldn't recomend quitting all SSRIs at this stage, but cut back as much as you can (whilst not putting yourself at risk) and I would suggest a decent, healthy diet, combined with 5-htp supplements, as well as melatonin growth boosters (there's actually a thread on this in BLTC, I believe...)

Trust your doc, but also trust yourself. You do mention about how cannabis has helped you, and for quite a lot of people it is a fairly good anti-depressant, I know for me at least it provides a good "self-analysis" time, when I can think about the issues in my life etc. Then again, I don't feel very connected to modern western "reality", and definatly getting high can make you slightly withdrawn and anxious if you let it. Then again, it does provide the marvelous benefit of being able to think your problems over, and consider how you deal with them etc.

I could whine on about a lot of other drugs as well, but in the end these are personal choices, and only you can decide to what level this is appropriate for a guy in your situation, you have infinitly more responsibility than say...me, shit, getting up before 2 is where my responsibility ends

Anyhow, I think the main thing is you reinforce your own sense of who you are. It's commonly said that "mentally unstable" people should not be meditating, or probing deep into their minds. Then again, I do think a bit of peaceful inner reflection on your life would do you good! Screw what everyone else thinks, in the end you have to create your own path, and strike the ballance that will allow you to be the most fulfilled, and adept at dealing with situations as they arise.

Anyhow, good luck, i'm sure it must be tricky getting "hated on", but seriously, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Your options are pleantiful, don't let any cunt tell you you have choice A, B and C, because fuck that, they don't know bugger all. If you think marketing strap-on dildos would provide you with sufficiant finances to live with your family, as well as enough time to interact with them and allow a good future, then by all means go for it!

I don't really see what's wrong with him. He's got a job, is going through college and supporting his daughter and fiance. What more could you ask of a person? He's doing this all while severely depressed, as well... and that's not easy.

Well with a degree your an O-1 And shit they make more money then the avg person coming out of school, plus you can get the to pay of student loans. Navy not a shit chance in hell you gonna die. Plus officers get more money for there housing allowance(they pay for your housing if you live outside the baracks and officers have to live in a house(rules)) and they give you food. Plus your a dam officer only other officers can truley give ya shit.

Military is good money but you got people to love and places to be so trust me its not a option, if you wanna hurt people join UFC lol some people are desperate for training parteners, but unless your really ready to go to war (since theres like 4 runnning) and leave your family behind, i dont suggest milatary

Gus your the awesome. Also hand you do realize if you join the army/navy you will be sent away from your wife and your kids. Knowing what I know from you by reading your posts that would fuck you up even more. Just finish school, stop taking useless drugs and get a decent paid job in your field to support your family. Heh, we sailors aren't even safe from the war man. They want to turn us into "Combat Sailors", yes I know, its an oxymoron and I make fun of it all the time. If you go corporate, and succeed, you'll make more money than you would in the military, thus once again, your family is safe.

Between college and the military, I chose the war. I am now more successful than my friends back home.
