Default I need to make up a good lie

Basically- long story short-

I have been avoiding a certain someone's phone calls all week because I just didn't feel like talking on the phone and now they've left me an extremely pissy message. I can't say- "I just didn't feel like talking"- because that would be kind of mean. I need a good lie.

I sound like a bitch but it was for a good cause, trust me.

Anyone?

phone broke, mom took it away, etc

whatever you tell her, wait a little longer so it doesnt look like you responded with your story the moment she left the bitchy voicemail. It needs to look authentic, not reactionary

be all flirty with the person and offer to buy them a shot next time you go out drinking...usually works for me.

Just listen to them. If they are wasting their time calling you, they probably want to tell you something.

Once you realize what a dumb fuck you are by not listening to them, what are the chances someone will listen to you when you need someone to talk to?

You haven't really given enough info... It really depends if you NEVER want to talk to this person again, or if you just didn't want to talk with them for a while.

Either way, keep avoiding the phone calls, or just make up some bullshit to make them feel guilty for leaving a pissy message (e.g. my dog/cat/family died, I was sick, ect.)

That is taking the easy way out. You need to see what it is about them that makes you not want to talk about it, and overcome it.

If you don't care about the person, you can use one of those excuses to make them feel bad. But if you still care, you can just be straight forward.

But karma works in the negatives. If you're mean to that person, if they care about you. Someone that you care about, will be mean to you.

Bull. Shit. Regardless of whether you're mean or not, someone will be mean to you. Then why does karma appear to exist to some people? Because you never keep track of how many completely unrelated events occur-- you only pay attention to the coincidences. Now, while the probability of a given bizarre coincidence occurring is very low, the probability of at least one bizarre coincidence occurring is almost 100%-- basically, one had to happen. However, people don't pay attention to all the unrelated events that occur; only to the bizarre coincidences; hence they see nonexistent connections and superstitions such as karma are born.

You're right. I over looked that fact. The fact that people will naturally look for coincidences, rather than see whats in front of them.

I only read the OP's post...so my suggestion would be to apologize and just explain that it's been a hell of a stressful week and you've just been out of it lately. Why has the week been stressful, you ask? I duno, be creative: Mid-life crisis, Bubonic Plague, overworked...etc.

I don't look at karma that way. I look at it as a whole. If I do something thats bad I realise that the chances of me knowing what karma has in store for me is very little but that it's gonna get me back somehow. I sorta agree with you though it is probaly all in the persons mind but if you keep to the postive side of karma then I know I'm more likely to do good things. I also think it doesn't get you back in the same way you did the bad thing.
