Default O Period, Where Art Thou?

My period has disappeared!

I haven't had sex in months, I've been off the pill for 4 or 5 months and I've been regular as fuck since I first got it.

Over the last few months, it's gone from an average 4-5 day, to my one last month being not even two days and incredibly light=/ And now it's not here at all, I was due two weeks ago!~1

I don't even have an std or anything because I got tested in september and haven't done anything since then.

What is wrong?

Have you been working out a lot? Is your body under a lot of stress?

Both will make it stop.

Doctor. Now. There are a hundred things it could be and Totse doesn't know most of them. Could be something minor (have you lost weight recently, for example?) or something major (PCOS, horomonal problem, lots of things).

Static, I've never heard of white spots on the nails being caused by stress. As far as I know, they're either caused by a zinc deficiency, or damage to newly-formed nail (not the kind of thing we generally notice).

Normally I would just say 'doctor' and close the thread. However one thing i have learnt is that period problems are notoriuosly difficult and complex. Often all the trips to the doctor can be in vain.

Not saying you shouldn't see a doctor, mind. Infact the gyno should be your first port of call after xmas!

However sometimes periods just stop. Ain't no reason (At least none can be found).

Like all women, Mother Nature can be a tempermental bitch at times.

I've known women who've not a had a period for years and then rushed to ER cos they thought they were about to die from blood loss.

You changed your diet recently? cos there seems to be a major connection there. Started taking even OTC meds on a regular basis?

No stress, at all. No weight loss particularly. Diet change? Not really, if anything I'm just eating more of stuff I'd usually eat anyway.

Up until a week ago, I was taking a lottt of antibiotics, but thwey never mentioned vanishing periods when they gave them to me.

Hey Isobutane. When I miss a period I take a few vitamin C pills and that usually sorts it out. Don't ask for the reasons why, I can't remember! It's just what I was reccomended to do. Sometimes periods like doubling over and so you'll have the next one at the regular date. Stupid things.

And Gus - you're not funny.

Default Re: O Period, Where Art Thou?

a friend of mine didn't have her period for well over a year, which she rather enjoyed. then one day she was upset and told me it was back. we tried to think of how or why and finally i looked on her desk and saw a bottle of zinc supplements. she started taking them because she got an industrial peircing in her ear and they were supposed to prevent those weird bumpy things from forming.

i turned the bottle around and read the label. it said something about increasing blood flow or something of the sort. we then believed the zinc was the cause.

so, maybe try those? sorry, all the help i can offer!

on a side note, its funny, no matter how much girls bitch about periods we miss them when they are not there. my doctor offered to give me the bc shot, which usually stops your period. i told him it would be too weird not to have one and i would freak out. hell, just yesterday i told my boyfriend how worried i was because i was a few hours late (for the past year i have gotten it at 9am on thursdays, so around 4 pm i was a little worried). ok. that was random. bye now!

Whine whine, bitch bitch, are you SURE you aren't without a sense of humor? Hell, it even made JACK of all people laugh. Really, I'm surprised no one else didn't make the same exact post sooner.

If you cannot laugh your problems away, you're doomed to shit yourself every time something decently stressful comes up. It's not healthy to not be able to take things lightly. Why the fucking hell should I give a damn if it made 'JACK' laugh? Great guy, but he's a mod on a fucking internet forum, not that that would matter to you, seeing as you live your whole life through the bloody thing.

I'd hope that Iso took it the way it was meant. She is probably a bit too level headed to have been that worried. She knows she isn't pregnant and would probably have gone to see a gyno without posting here.

But anyway, lapses in periods can be caused by so many things you're best off seeing a gyno. I mean come on, Totse isn't exactly the best place to come to asking medical advice. If you feel embarassed about going, don't be. Just take someone with you who is going to support you no matter what.

And if all else fails, maybe we can rule in immaculate conception?

I thinkyou're over reacting a little bit.

It was just a little joke, hell Iso didn't go off her rocker.

You're makng a mountain out of a mole hill.

As girl, who has missed periods, and had a whole lot of period troubles, due to screwy medication, stress, and various other reasons due to the general shittiness of my body, I can whole heartedly say, I found the joke funny. Because that's all it was, a joke. Sometimes you need to take a step back from your worry and look on the brighter side. We're human, sometimes it's easier to deal with pain that way.

Fuck, I've met cancer patients happier than you.

Iso, there is a possibility that your antibiotics could have screwed your periods over, because beleive it or not, they do not account for every particular body type in their little side effects list. And as we all know, everyone has minor differences in the way we function that make us individuals.

But I hope there's nothing wrong with you, being stuffed over by your period can be a really scary thing. Best wishes.

Lol wow, no wonder some women get called bitchy cunts sometimes - wires go smoke some weed, do some yoga - what ever floats your boat and come back when you can take a joke.

I think with all the OvEr CaPiTaLisAtIoN in gus' post is was obviously a joke, and a funny one at that - and yes that is coming from a female with terrible periods! Hell I'm sure Gus as seen me whine about my chronic cramps many times before!

Iso, those antibiotics you're on may be a cause, but you are fairly young and periods can become irregular for no reason often. Mine were regular for 2 years and then they started to become irregular for about a year, and now they're only just coming right and I'm 19.

Haha, boys don't have periods

Nor do we have to give birth.

And we're treated with more respect in .::Modern Society::.

Plus, it's cooler to have a penis than a vagina.

AND we're physically superior (in the vast majority of cases) to women.

But it's what's on the inside that counts, which is the main ingredient of ~Equality~.
