Default Bad Idea Or Polite? Or Is This Just All My Fault Again?

I took a trip up to Washington for Thanksgiving and I figured while I was up there I would contact all my friends I know who are currently living up there and may be we could all go see a show. One of my friends (who I didn't contact, his friend told him I was going to be up there and he contacted me) who lives up there is a guy I used to date. And not just a guy but super hot, sexy accent, I drive a mercedes and wear tight pants guy. We dated almost two years ago but were in such different places in our lives it just didn't work. We ended it on good terms, but then went our seperate ways.

Anyways, while I was up there we decided to catch a show but this fell through. I spent it with my family instead. But, funny thing happened and he decided to move back to San Francisco! He just called me a few days ago and left a message saying he's back in SF, it's too bad we missed each other in Seattle and may be we can do something this time.

Now I know I agreed to see him in Seattle. For some reason it seemed like Seattle was so far away and it was such tenuating circumstance that whatever wrongness in it would be overcome by distance or something. I mean, it would've been okay to hang out and if he tried anything I could've safely said "Sorry, I have a boyfriend." But, for some reason when it's him on my home turf I feel like it's a really bad idea, because I can't just fly back home.

But, how can I explain that it wasn't a bad idea to meet in Seattle but it's a bad idea to meet here? I'm just afraid that if we see each other we're going to keep seeing each other until something happens. And what if may be there's a tiny piece of me that wishes something would happen? I'm so irritated with my boyfriend right now, our relationship just doesn't budge! Just getting him to leave the house is a chore, we only see each other like once a week, he avoids my friends like the plague, and my family like frothing zombies, it's just getting boring. Though the sex is amazing and the sex was awful with Casey (the hot guy).

Anyways, long and rambling post ended here.

Cheers,

Lost

Where do you bartend in San Francisco? I used to bartend in Alameda. If you know any bartenders in Alameda, you might know me.

Just meet up with him, not like you have anything to lose.

*love you*

Yeah, she could very well just sleep with him and have her boyfriend dump her, too.

Hell, sounds like a plan to me!

*hopes you are back for good and will be re-admin'd *

LC, the fact you're debating with yourself/asking tells you all you need to know.

At the very least finish with your b/f first.

I agree with Wintermute, however, do not do anything underhanded. Make certain your boyfriend knows...even invite him.

Sometimes, that "forbidden fruit" will lose its luster when seen for what it is.

It seems to me that you are merely looking for a distraction from all the shit lately.

Would you like me to paint the bullseye on my forehead myself, or will you supply one free of charge?

This might be a stupid question but... Could you meet up with him a few times and see what happens? And then if it starts to get weird just cut it off for a while.

Or I know you said your boyfriend didn't like to be around your friends but it might help if your boyfriend came with you when you saw him perphaps.

That would be just fucked up. That would just be leading him on. The fallout from such an action would be unpredictable.

This is what I was thinking from the beginning of this thread. If Lost really cares for her boyfriend and would like to have a lasting relationship with him, she would bring him to meet this hot ex of hers. Either her current boyfriend will suddenly wake up with the realisation that he is replaceable and start to take a more active role in Lost's social life or bridges will be built to have both her ex and her current boyfriend comfortably within her life.

A false dichotomy, I know, but I'm an optimist.

You're current dude sounds kind of anal. Have you been using the Huge Strap-on regularly to try to loosen him up?

That raises a good point. I seem to find myself in this sort of similiar situation a lot. Situations where I'm not cheating per se, but whatever is happening is just slightly not kosher and the possibility for cheating is almost definite. May be the reason I keep finding myself in these situations is a sort of subconcious attempt to get my boyfriend to "wake up and realise he's replaceable". Not that he really is "replaceable", but it would be nice if he would show some effort to be a larger part of my life than he currently is. I just don't feel like we're that close or something.

I would really like to see Casey, but I guess the proper thing to do would to be sure that he knows I have a boyfriend and go from there. As long as he knows I have a boyfriend, I feel like things will be easier.

Cheers,

Lost

Welcome back, Sue! We've missed you around here. I don't blame you for not wanting to be admin again. Sometimes I wonder why I'm even a mod, hahahaha.

Alright, I'm off to blow shit up.

P.S: Jaded's in town. I'll tell him you said 'hi'.

Cheers,

Lost

I've noticed. I don't catch a lot of your posts, but when I do catch them they are usually stuff of this matter. You should really tell him whats on your mind.

First of all, it is easier to train someone to perform better in a bedroom than it is to break them of their old habbits. Second, if you need to have an escape route to see someone, perhaps you should seek therapy, i avoid people i don't want to see whether i have an escape route or not. And third, concerning your boyfriend, all things move towards their ends, and if you can't trust yourself hanging out with another man, chances are there is something really wrong with your present realtionship, if i was tempted to infidelity, i always considered it a sign that my present relationship needed to end.
