Default How do you stop missing someone?

Well, theres this girl that I used to see. We had an argument and we are no longer friends. Thing is, we were never going out, we were best friends. I don't think we can ever see each other again though(I'll explain if you guys want to hear).

But yeah, right now I miss her so much. And I can't forget about her. How do I stop missing her?

--I can add more detail if someone asks.

Its been a bit more than a month since I last saw her. But a week ago since I talked to her on MSN. And I still miss her.

Should I try to get rid of all contact with her or something?

I'm actually going to respond seriously now, because I know how painful it can be to miss someone. I lost my best friend, although that happened slowly rather than for one big reason, and it's one of the most painful things I've ever been through. It still hurts today, if I think about it, it was on a par with finding out that the girl I loved didn't love me any more.

Post what it was that means you can't see each other any more, if you can. Because unless she doesn't actually like you as a friend anymore, pretty much anything can be worked through. If she wants the same relationship you had, then it can be fixed. And if not... well, it might never stop hurting. You'll find a way to deal with it; you just won't let it get on top of you, unless you want to think about it. Something like this will always be with you, but it's the immediacy that makes it hurt so much. Just give it time, there's not anything else you can do. And don't willingly try to cut off contact with her, the effort will make it a lot more painful than it is. Just let things progress naturally.

Other things might take your mind off it, temporarily, but it's more likely you won't be in the mood for trivial-seeming things. Think about it if you have to, and you'll come to terms with it eventually.

yeah, get another girl. trust me. My girl moved to south africa for 3 months, it's been 2, but i just kind of just started flirting to hell with every girl, not cheating at all, just being flirty with people, and quit missing her so much, but then she told me she didn't want to be with anyone when she got back so yeah, that sucks. but whatever. i'm bummed but can't bitch.

I can tell you from experience that willingly cutting of contact infact IS the best thing. Girls who i would like, i would get over alot more by blocking and deleting them on msn, which is willing cutting of contact. It heals alot quicker if you don't keep picking at the wound.

ok. this might help you. if i tell you my story

4 years ago i met this one chick at a cinema. Don't ask me why i talked to her that night. i will never ever know. But we got very close pretty quick. We did everything together, she taught me alot of stuff and was always there for me when i was growing up. so anyway we spent 3 years together. we talked everyday about anything. we never actually ran out of things to talk about.

one day i asked her out to some like concert thing. she had work and said she would meet me there later. you can probably guess what comes next. she didn't show up. i waited for 6 hours in the cold freezing rain, while she stood me up and went and got drunk.

For the next 7 months i went through some pretty painful days/nights. By about 3months suicide was on my mind, (but i was too pussy to do it) but i would of liked to back then. yeah the clouds looked grey, i thought this shit would never end. But just recently i met this new chick who has just swept me away, im getting the same feelings i got with that other chick, but something feels so right about this one.

yeah im scared it could happen man, but I'm never going to know if i don't try =]

and for one word of advice "What doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger"

hope it helps. later
