Default aspects of relationships: good or bad?

i was thinking the other day about things my boyfriend and i do around each other. pretty much all the gross things that people usually do alone we are comfortable doing around each other. this is because we are so comfortable with each other, but really...is that a good thing?

should i be able burp and fart without second thought? should he be fine picking the pimples on his butt while laying in bed with me? should we not care about walking the bathroom whilst the other is doing whatever it is they may be doing?

i wonder if it is this stuff that kills that romance in the relationship; truely seeing all the flaws and humaness in them.

idk, i just realized the only other guy i was ever comfortable enough around like that was my brother (not even my dad for some reason...). and i just thought that was odd.

i was just wondering what all of you fabulous &totse thought about this.

It kills a hollow romance, certainly. But though, if you two want to see if you're ment to be, especially if that's what you might want to be thinking, then it's the only way to make sure before someone asks the big question and you're stuck together until death do you part.

I can honestly say I never want to get that intimate with anybody. I like my space and privacy.

I'm assuming you live together. Move out?

To be honest I never even want to live in the same house as a girlfriend. Or if I do, make sure I don't spend too much time around her.

Yeah, that's how relationships go. You become used to each other, and you start to find out that they're not all sunshine and buttercups, eh?

Well, you have two choices of action as far as logical sense dictates: Break it off and find a new boytoy or learn to live with it if you still love him.

The choice is yours.

See now, I'm the exact opposite. I want to know a person for who they really are, and I want to show that person who I really am.

Then again, I'm getting old, and most likely need to find a woman to settle down with... Hahaha... Old.

we don't live together, we both live on campus and actually even seldom spent the whole night with each other. but whenever we are always very comfortable around each other. its nice not having to hide it, but at the same time can really be a turn off...

So then you need to figure out if you really want to keep him as a possible husband, or dump him now and find yourself another boy-toy to play with.

It's really not as complicated as you're trying to make it out to be, sweet-stuff.

the guy didn't pay me...so the term you should rethink your term. slut/tramp/bitch would all work much better.

and seriously, bitch about it in the appropriate thread. hell, that one is still one the first page.

That kind of intimacy is best left for married couples. But you said you've been together for a year and a half. That equates to pretty much married, so you might have to get used to it. If you can accept another person's "human-ness" as you put it, take into account all their faults but still love them, I think that says a lot. You should be pretty stoked on having a relationship like that. Although maybe walking in on eachother in the bathroom is a little much...

There are locks on the bathroom door for a reason.

Do what you're comfortable with. It's neither good nor bad. Some couples don't want to be Disillusioned by their partner...in that way.
