do you have a life?

what do you do with people? i mean what do you actually DO?

i find that i don't leave my little 'personal space' and get out into the world because i just don't know WHAT to DO.

mabye its just cuz i spent christmas in my room renovating my myspace for the first time ever for like 5 hours, and have spent a week wit family on a family vacation.

the only thing that makes me happy recently is strapping up my ipod and running on the beach/hiking/snowboarding...finally not a fatass anymore, but i have never had less friends. i have the few 'friends' i call (stuck up dramatic south american girl, weird rich white fagboy, best friend i haven't heard from in 2 weeks), but when confronted with the possibility of seeing any of them i just sorta...lay down on my bed again.

what would i do with them anyways? smoke bowls? done that for years, it gets old, as does the pretentious party/rave/I'M SO HARDXCORE AND COOL FOR MY AGE thing. movies only get you so far. entertainment/shopping..videogames....wtf is there?!

Talk? I've had conversations with people that spanned for 10 hours before. You don't necissarily need to DO anything, just talk about life and stuff. It does help to be doing an activity, like skating or jamming or getting drunk or whatever, becuase that's a good topic to start with. It sounds to me like you need more motivation, and better freinds. I get the impression that you don'tt want to see your "freinds", this could either be because you don't actually like them, or you're just depressed/unmotivated. I suggest getting new, better freinds, and if that doesn't work then look long and hard at yourself and see if it's you that is the problem.

smoke a couple o' bowls and wander around. when i went to new mex for vacation thats what i did and i got like 5 numbers within 30 minutes, i attribute that to grass' anti anxiety properties. or if not that then just get some bravery and talk to some people.i have this problem with chicks i cant really chill with them, i just get uncomfortable, im not gay i just feel like i dont know what to say sometimes to them, i usually jus smoke a bowl and the problem is gone. oh yeah and if you want to analyze your life which does help trip on some shrooms that does help me every once and a while if i am having some trouble with my life.

I dont think i have what most would call "a life" or, atleast not a "social life"

I have too much on my hands such as College work, extra reading for College work and such, when others go out on the weekend and party and get drunk....i do extra readin that might not even be needed for college, i just LOVE learning and i would prefer to be alone with one person just talking for hours than being out with alot drinking or even just going out with a lot of people.

Howeverrrrrr, i have only met one person i can sit, do nothing...and randomly talk with and she moves to Switzerland..sooooo, until i find someone else i can do this with (which is HARD for me) then i will stay the same

Im sure things will change, you dont have to have a busting social life to be happy and have fun.

Having a social life is overrated. Yes, you need some interaction occasionally or you will begin to feel a unique mental anguish. This is not loneliness; it is made worse when you are surrounded by people who are near yet do not talk to you.

The first step is to stop caring. Stop judging yourself. It will only make you desperate, and desperate attempts to force friendships with people you don't have much in common with end badly. Desperation also tends to make you clam up in fear of saying something stupid. The best way to make friends is to figure out how to speak fluidly and appropriately, and do that. This is done with practice.

I practiced on totse. This helped, considering that throughout highschool I got next to no practice. The internet is good practice; post, chat on irc, im people. Now, although people make jokes about me always staying in my dorm room, I have conversations with people on a daily basis. A bunch of people. I say stuff in group conversations when I have an idea of what to say. Sometimes it doesn't work, but most of the time it does; otherwise I just shrug it off and go back to whatever I was doing.

Essentially, you need to live in the general vicinity of others, and have a need to do things with them to have friends in rl, although in my experience it's just as enjoyable to just talk to people over the internet.

The most important thing is to be confident. If you are not genuinely confident, you will not be as effective as you would otherwise be. The path to confidence is apathy and being stubborn; learn from your mistakes, but resist the pain that comes with them, because you will mentally flinch every time after if you care.

Fuck, man, if you want friends, go get 'em!! Stuff to do? I usually shoot guns/ride BMX with my buddies, so yea go do a sport, it's fun. Or talk. I've got this one friend who me and him will talk forever. About lots of stuff, usually like scientific stuff, like a car that will go forever, what the hell is a Watt, what's a Volt, when did ice cream get invented... Shit like that, hella fun. Movies? Naaa, watching movies with friends is possibly the biggest waste of time out there... Drugs? Fuck, I guess if you want to...?

ha im the complete opposite. i can talk to a girl anytime, cant usually talk to guys...gay or straight. im not that gay acting..smoking bowls is most definitly what id opt for, but what happens when there are no chill people to kick it with!?

great advice, although not really fitting my circumstances. also i dont think the internet is a good place to simulate social interaction....wtf am i talking about, im on totse.

i have enough confidence, i probably come across as cocky sometimes.

i just cant shrug off the feeling that im just somehow...different. and i feel like thats arrogant, because in reality im probably just like everyone else.

sports, you're probably right. till now i consider more personal activities (running, swimming, hiking). i need to start surfing more often, which requires me finding intersting people to do this with. where do i find this?

I reckon all you need is to walk around thinking, I own this motherfuckin town! All these people would be lucky to talk to me.
